Sorry Sleekit, Marines and Navy are different branches. We could have Space Navy Seals though. Hehe Space Seals. It doesn't have the same badass ring to it I must admit. I don't think that there is a space navy. Though presumably one day when we have the technology some force is going to have to marshal in space. They do use the navy so much in fiction for a reason.

The UN couldn't operate a petrol pump, and the US can't cover up a burglary or even conceal who a politician is sleeping with without the entire world finding out, so, no, there's no such conspiracy. But I would like to dream.

Governments suck at keeping secrets. So if there were a 'Space Navy' or if 9/11 was a US plot, then we would know the truth pretty quickly.

Of course they do. Haven't you seen Stargate SG-1? They only want you to think it's fiction. They actually made it to give Starfleet some plausible deniability.

I think the USAF colonel trolled you.
Well, he was like 45 so I doubt he knows what "trolling" is. And it's not like I believed him or anything.
You would be surprised....Intentionally lying to someone to piss them off/make them believe something wrong is not a new thing.

Yep, I do like watching the different Stargate shows.

Plus the USAF was such a fan of the program they supplied the show with a lot of real USAF gear. From uniforms to trucks right down to pens. So they HAVE been battling aliens in Egypt 5000 years ago.

Saying that, the US DOES have a space command. Namely this one. http://www.afspc.af.mil/

Speaking of USAF and space, the less we speak about those ads they made the better.

Of course the USA can have a secret space navy, it's not like we're in 15 trillion dollars of debt or anything!
Well that would explain where that 15 trillion dollars went.

I am 99% certain that the US has experimented with arming satellites with nuclear warheads, and it would not surprise me if they had several armed satellites overhead right now. Whether you constitute that as a 'Space Navy', I dunno. I answered yes, because it would be possible to arm a space station.

I that case, I'm sure the US has tried other ways to further the weaponization of space. That being said, we're not gonna see proof of an enterprise, or an X-302, or a star destroyer in orbit.

I think it's more scary that the USAF has such nutjobs so high up the chain of command.

The other day I was chatting with a guy who is a colonel in the USAF and we got onto the subject of conspiracy theories, arguing about 9/11, Roswell, NWO, all that bullshit and he started telling me that he has seen documents indicating that the Air Force and Navy operate a United States Space Navy as part of some UN project or something.

He didn't go into detail but he seemed utterly convinced of it's reality. Now, he was advocating that the US was behind 9/11 and that it is secretly dealing with aliens to build a New World Order, mind you.

Obviously with our current understanding of physics, space travel in the scifi sense it impossible, but that got me wondering and thinking; do you think any of the superpower government's or UN would be able to realistically operate something like that or that they may actually?

I feel like I saw that concept in a movie or TV show at one point but I don't remember what it was.
Technically hes telling you the truth. And hes telling you because its not all that secret. Its just not all that well known. The vehicle in use by this Space Navy is called the X-37B at the moment. Its in its final stages of testing. As to what exactly its going to be used for is about the only real secret part of it.

Somehow I don't think it had anything to do with 9/11 ... but it does exist as does the US Air Force's Space Program "Navy".

Well duh! What else is keeping those space roaches from killing us all? All UFO sitings are classified UN space ships that were being flown carelessly. The pilots were reprimanded.

Follow the money. something like that wouldn't be free, and no country I am aware of could sustain it. Hell just building and designing the damned Canadian Space arm cost how much?

and how exactly could they escape the notice of astronomers who view the sky for hours every night the world over?

I smell BS

Look at the ISS, look at the amount of money countries have put into it, and how much is due to each nation. It is impossible to fund such a crazy idea.

If the U.S. hadn't ended our space program so abruptly, I could believe in very early secret plans to create one, which would explain him seeing documents, but I would still doubt that we had a secret space navy already in orbit around the earth, especially when it came to the fact that plenty of amateur astronomers would've spotted them by now.
Alas, with our space agency already having done their final space mission, my above paragraph wouldn't even be a flicker of hope. And it would be a hope of mine if it had any truth to it, for space exploration is, in my opinion, the leading contribution Russia and the US have made in this world.

No, but some of the theories for the 9/11 conspiracy aren't without merit. I myself don't believe them, but perhaps I'm naive. I don't really know, and no one does, because the conspiracy peoples don't have good enough evidence, but enough to make the idea compelling.

In any case, no. There's no way this day in age that something like that would exist without somebody finding out about it.

A UN space force would look pathetic. Funded, crewed, and outfitted by half the security council, but all the rest of the goons would incessently demand to supply the various officer positions.

I didn't believe him for a moment. My question was are those entities CAPABLE of running a secret project like that. and the consensus so far seems to be no.

I could be considered a conspiracy theorist, but even for me that one sounds a little too far out there. First of all launching anything into space is slightly more difficult to hide than farting loudly in an elevator with only one other person riding, and that person is a ?little person,? and they are standing right behind you. Also there are very few places in the world that are outfitted to send things into space, and off the top of my head I can't think of any reason the UN (the United Nations, a collaboration of different glorified diplomats, representing the will of the majority of humanity) would have solo access to one. And finally, anyone with half a brain could just buy a sixty dollar telescope and see whatever they are doing. It?s not like they can hide behind trees up there.

So ya? I?m gonna call bullshit on this one.
