Obviously it wouldn't be able to take place in Aperture Science, or feature Chell.

It could potentially take place at Black Mesa, who could be having their own portal projects.

So, what is your opinion?

Portal 2 stretched the concept almost to the breaking point. It's not exactly a concept that lends itself to a full-length game. Wouldn't mind see some story-based DLC exploring other aspects of Apature, but not Portal 3.

I know little about Portal 2, but from what I know/heard it seems DLC every now and then would serve it far better than an entire 60$ game.

Ya Portal was great but its over unfortunately. looking forward to the DLCs and new chambers and stuff, but I dont think there ought to be a third Portal game. If they made it I'd definitely play it but It feels like Left 4 dead at this point in the sense that if they wanted to add more content just add more DLCs, we dont need another Portal game just expand on this new one

Just because a game is good doesn't mean it should get a bunch of sequels. It's sequels that are ruining the industry. Just look at cod.

Portal 2 ended with everyone in terrificly bittersweet situations.

Everyone has what the want without what they want. So the only real loose ends that can be tied up will more than likely be filled in with Episode 3 and the co-op mode DLC that's coming this summer[footnote]ETA prone to Valve time[/footnote], so a Portal 3 would just render this nice little bow of a game into an illogical money machine, not unlike.... well.....

I guess series that aren't Valve's.

definite no to portal 3, however hope this isn't the last we see of aperture science

besides portal 3 would only give valve another excuse not to work on episode 3

I wouldn't be against maybe some extra DLC or thereabouts, but I think Portal 2 satiated my portal-puzzle needs for a long while. Truly, the only reason I got it was to play Co-Op with my friend, but after that was done, I've moved on.

And.... I'll say it for anyone (else I be ninja'd before I hit the post button) - What I would love Valve to do next would be Episode 3... or hell, just announce Half-Life 3 already.

Actually, I'm kind of curious about something. The lab is this massive place that can recover fully from the brink of disaster. It's literally a giant mechanoid run by Glados. Where better could you host a Portal game?

Okay, my idea for Wheatley's Adventures in the Aperture Science Moonbase seems plausible, but still...

I struggle to imagine new gameplay mechanics they can implement, and a cohesive story they can form given what has transpired.

I would much rather prefere tons of new puzzles/puzzle editor, along with time trials extra challenges and all that craic. No need for a sequel.

A full sequel? Hell no.

An add-on or expansion to Portal 2, like just some extra levels or something? Hell yes.

No. Loved the first 2. But if they make it a trilogy, then it will lose all originality the first had major amounts of and the second had a good dose.

Actually, I think a puzzle editor would be incredible. They wouldn't even need to release DLC.
