I have to argue no, both from game to movie and movie to game
The selling point of a game is constant entertainment. Very few games have a deep storyline, and those that do are ridiculed for having too many cutscenes (see MGS4). The difficult thing in gaming is to keep the spaztic XBOX live gmaer from discarding your production because you are trying to develop a plot, which means that he hasn't blown someone up in over five seconds.
Movies, on the other hand, are all about plot. Examine storylines from games, halo for example. All in all, it was a decent game. But think of the movie: "Here we have someone who is essentially a wealking tank, can take out entire armies of baddies on his own. He's gonna walk down linear corridors and kill everything in his path. And for the heck of it, we'll try to make a plot." Sorry, not gonna work.
The only successes are games LOOSELY based off of movies. and vice versa. For example the Star Wars games. Very few of them are scene for scene taken from the movies. George Lucas created a GALAXY, and set down some basic rules for it. Game developers took those rules and invented from them, resulting in success.
