I might be going insane, cause there are a couple of weird things that always happens to me.

I'll be just doing whatever I'm doing, like watching TV or something and suddenly I hear every word and sound from the last conversation in the background, like somebody left the recorded track on a speaker in a far off room.

Also I sometimes(rarely) see things that are completely not there. Such as an open door is instead a closed one and I try and grab for the knob only to be met with empty air then I blink and poof, door is open. Wtf.

Sometimes, in the dead of night, I fantasize about terrible places. Everything is rusted and dessicated. The sky is blood red. Sometimes, the buildings seem to be partially organic, rooms have badly attached flesh for wallpaper in concrete rooms. Some hallways seem to be rusty wire frames precariously positioned over an abyss of roiling darkness. Things whisper in it. The road weeps every time you walk on it, and gibbering howling faces float down it as though it were a stream. The occasional car can be many things, such as a horrid insectoid, a souped up extra large stretcher with a very big corpse on it, and self propelled three dimensional projections of a calabi-yau manifold with bat and bird heads growing out of the folds. Sometimes a giant manta ray floats over the city, but it has three mouths and each one sings in three voices at the same time, it has rusting turbines and industrial fans grafted haphazardly onto it. Things live on its' back, sometimes it drops slugs with the head of screaming children onto the ground below. These slugs grow into strange creatures that do strange things in adulthood.

And sometimes, I feel like I wish I could go there. It seems beautiful in a sublime way, in how horrible and strange it is.

Spoiler'd for long and ridiculous.

Does this mean anything? Well...all it means is I play too much Silent Hill. There's something to be said about reading too much into things.

Is it still paranoia if there ARE people actually trying to kill you? Also, you can call me Nannerpuss, Nannerpuss. And guess what, I love pancakes.

If you have the mental capacity to ask yourself if you are going insane, you are not going insane. it is that simple. The most crazy people don;t even know that they are wacked in the head.

Avoiding the ninety billion "who? What? Nonononono, I'm not insane!" posts, and the other twelve trillion "The voices in my head say no." posts, I must admit, without a jovial twinkle in my eye, that I have some serious fucking problems.

Assorted depression-related ones contribute to a particularly unstable, borderline-suicidal state of mind that pulls at me consistently, while a sociopathic urge gives me a nasty sadistic kick from pain, blood, torture and gore. I also do some very odd things, but that's just my natural personality.
I salute your honesty. It's hard for people to admit to emotional or mental problems. Believe me, it's better to admit those kinds of things than be a douchebag (like me) and do nothing about it.

No, everyone else is...Duh.

But in (this) reality? Not really, I wish I was crazy... enough to be amazing at something at least, I'm already weird so some talent would be nice, but fuck it, they'd probably turn off ma internets and lock me in a padded room which would be boring as fuck.

Haven't heard any voices in my head or anything like that. The only thing is that sometimes, when I stay in bed waiting to get asleep, I think of a song, and I hear it, as if I got my headphones on my ears and actually listening to it. Heck I don't complain it's kinda cool, hearing you're favorite song before going asleep.

Or sometimes I hear my name called when there was silence in the house, but happens rarely.

Human beings are naturally insane from the start. Seriously.
I'm of course reffering to the fact that we can constantly make desicions to do completely irrational things, like bungee jumping on a whim. If you mean "voices talking to you" insane, well, that depends on what the voices are telling you. Personally, I'd listen to voices that gave me sound financial advice, but not ones telling me to go kill people. Besides, isn't one of the most widespread visual cues in history an angel on one shoulder, a demon on the other, both whispering into a person's ear? Seems pretty crazy to me...

I have heard voices calling my name before while my house is all quiet. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with it, unless you start talking to those voices... then you might have a problem!
I get that a lot. But that's been programmed in after years of shouting from Mum.

Sometimes I'm just sitting around reading a book, get through a particularly long chapter, then I SWEAR I hear an XBOX achievment go off. But that can't be it, because my XBOX is off and I'm by myself in the house. I also live away from the city, so no noisy neighbors with their TV's as loud as a jet. Then other times I hear my name being called. Same scenario.
I get that but with the MSN bong, but I only hear it during certain songs. It's not randomised. I'm sure it's probably just an error in the sound file but.. yeah freaked me out the first couple of times I heard it.

Other than that I'm sane-tastic thank you.

I view insanity as inevitable. I have multiple huge rants on this exact subject...but unfortunately it's 4:00 in the morning and I just finished watching Serenity...and now have to get up and turn off the TV because I lost the remote somehow in this one room dorm. Though I could listen to the Serenity selection screen for a few more hours without going completely nutters.

But long story short, I believe insanity increases in proportion with knowledge, because as more "factual knowledge" is gained, you begin to lose the self-identity. Knowing too much about the world causes it to be boring, and as a general rule of thumb we'll change something when we get bored. Since society is extremely limiting on what changes are moral or immoral, any immoral change results in being deemed evil and mentally unhealthy.
