The "average" person usually has an IQ of around 80-100, last time I took an IQ test I was around 140 so alot higher by using this method, smarts wise though I think Im above average but not by much.
Technically, the exact average is always 100, they constantly adjust it so that the peak of the bell curve is scored as 100 points.
OT: I'm quite intelligent, both based on personal observation in terms of how quickly I grasp new concepts compared to others, and based on official tests I've taken. Not including the incredibly inaccurate online IQ tests, one of which declared me mentally impaired, while another said I was in the low 200s range (actual value is quite far from both extremes, I will not list it here).
I can tell you from personal experience that IQ alone is far from enough. I'm introverted, passive, and lack personal drive, while my younger brother is passionate, extroverted and driven. We have close to the same ability to learn and apply knowledge, he's actually just a little bit slower than I am. However, I'm struggling to move beyond physical labor jobs, while he just graduated from college as a commissioned officer in the Navy's nuclear engineering program. He'll be serving on board a nuclear powered submarine within the year, with a starting paycheck that blows nearly all other professions out of the water.
One analogy for the condition of my mind I've used from time to time is to compare it to a top of the line powerhouse of a computer, that someone decided to install an unpatched version of Windows Millennium onto.
