There are many different types of intelligence. Some people are very good with numbers and theoretical thinking. Some people just have incredible memories and can remember things they were taught over a decade ago. Some people are just personable, and understand how people think and can predict their behavior. I think I'm intelligent in my own way, but there are people out there that are smart in ways that I could never be. I would say I am better at math and can think abstractly better than my best friend, but he can understand music and the intricacies of it in a way that I simply never could. Furthermore I don't think intelligence is simply a measure of how quickly you can learn things, but how hard you work at it comes into play as well. Nobel prize winners are very intelligent, but none of them just woke up one morning and had a theory in their head that would revolutionize physics or chemistry as we know it. They worked hard. They worked countless hours researching and formulating their hypothesis and performing test after test to prove or disprove its validity. If you can learn things quickly and easily but put no real effort into learning then I think you're very gifted and have a lot of potential, but I don't think you're intelligent.
