Yes.

But unlike many here, I will not claim to be a genius. I think genius cannot be captured in an IQ-quotient, but only in insight, ideas and imagination.

-edit-

A more interesting addition to this question would be to ask the respondent's age. I am quite sure that will give for interesting results.

I'm significantly above average in intelligence, but pretty average when it comes to social skills.

Less intelligent overall, but blessed in math and technical writing. And more learned, but only in narrow fields. Also, I don't play a popular instrument, and I steal all my dance moves.

I got into the best university in my state, with a score in the top 1% of the entire year. Yes, I don't think I could honestly say I was below average.

I'd say average to a bit below

my problem is I give the illusion of being smart e.g reading textbooks in break, using the odd long word, having a posh British accent)

Frequently I get people asking for homework help on lessons I haven't taken and are a tad awful at

in some regards maybe, I'm incredibly analytical and deductive about physical things as well as people, however I'm fairly behind in communication to pretty much anyone but my girl haha

Selection bias.

Like many people here, I've undergone testing at some point, so I know where I was at that point. I'm not a genius, but I was up in the 90th percentile for all the tests. Of course, I've spent an awful lot of years rotting my brain with alcohol and pop culture since then!

I would need to meet someone that had been classified as "average" first to get a good grip on where I stand.

I'm something of a poly-math; I'm slightly above average in just about everything to do with mental prowess, yet science and mathematics are the only area's I truly excel in. Most people are above average in one or two forms of intelligence, below average in one or two and average in the rest.

Addendum: There are numerous types of intelligence, such as: logic, spacial reasoning, language, social, memory, lateral and intellectual - to name the ones that spring to mind. You really should be more specific in your questions.

No option for just average? That is what I consider myself to be, or at least somewhere close to average.

Depends on the subject matter, really.

I'm not stupid, I do think about things, and there are plenty of areas in which I consider myself to be very knowledgeable.

Nope. In fact I think I'm pretty low down. I'm one of those solemn naive boys who know nothing about anything.

I've been told i'm intelligent by many people and studying physics at university. Though i don't consider myself to be a genius I think i'm probably hovering at around average, maybe just below, in my classes.

Without a doubt above average in terms of intelligence, but in terms of wisdom, probably just average.

Above. Been tested a LOT and score well above on emotional and IQ. Consistently high grades. Easy social understanding.

I'm just better than you.

So which 50% do you personally think you fall into, the upper or the lower?

Remember, knowledge =/= intelligence. Living in a developed country and getting a good education does not make you inherently smarter, just more learned.
According to my IQ, my intelligence is above average. I believe the average IQ is 100, last time a took a test it was 120-130.

In terms of applying my brain to practical situation I would say I am around average. Sometimes I am quite good at things, sometimes it takes me ages to grasp something that Everyone else understood instantly.
