I use it quite a lot, learned most of the math I know on that site. I find it very helpful just for looking up things when I'm bored, or when I need to know something. But like people have said before, most of the time it's either complete but very technical, or informal but crucial information is missing from the explanation.

I don't think its reliable, and not only that but most of the topics don't have so much info anyway. I just use actual databases for info.

I trust Wikipedia more than I trust people who put random words in "quotes", if you know what I mean...

Yes.

Even though occasionally some ass will fuck it up and put false info on purpose in there, some geek will quickly fix it because they cant stand the sight of false info for too long

That "Geek" is usually me.

I use it if I want to get an overview of a topic, which I think is the purpose of the site, but not for research. I usually use books or journals if I'm really investigating something.

I like it as a resource for other sites that may be less fluid in their content.

I use Wikipedia usually for academic reasons, so I'm fairly confident people won't be editing the pages I look up.

Well given that most wiki nerds are preped to push for public execution on somone that dares decicrate the sanctity of their perfectly researched, utterly flawless pages. I'd say 8/10 times? Yes it's reliable.

I use on stuff that people would really have no reason to mess with.

Anything about Twilight or the Jonas Brothers is probably fake though.

Good for checking dates, basic facts and random trivia.

I would never trust it for anything acedemic though....because I would get failed

I trust the Wiki because it has lots & lots of credible citations. However, Comic Vine is a much better source of info on comics & hardcore geek/fan-made wikis tend to be the most relyable on specific topics, like a video game franchise or Homestar Runner.

The there are the wikis I do not trust, like WikiTruth, Althistory Wiki, Encyclopedia Dramatica, & Conservapedia; very biased, no citations at all. Almost all articles are either silly & written by trolls who were banned from Wikipedia, or by seruously demented old people who sleep with pocket bibles under their pillows.

I trust Wikipedia completely. Apart from the Scientology pages, which vary between neutral and Scientology-biased by the day.
And my school page, which a friend of mine has turned into a blatant advert for his website.
But other than that it's mostly kept in check and now has more than 3,000,000 articles in English.

Yeah, but I often check to see if a piece of information has been cited, and I'll check out it's source.

If it sounds reasonable and its on Wikipedia then it is very likely to be correct.

Why did you call it "Wikipedia" btw? What is with the quotation marks?
