Since my Harddrive is not unlimited and i can always re-install them, i often deinstall games before i beat them, because a lot of them bore me before i do. Or just because i need free space for my music. Music always comes first.

The only games i never uninstalled are Stubbs the Zombie and Mount & Blade. Never will get enough of them.

With the exception of games like Oblivion, which take forever to mod and hit the sweet spot between performance and enjoyment, I usually uninstall games when I finish them or am just played out. That goes for both Steam and retail games.

I only have about 300gb of space, 50 of which is for my Windows 7 install. Space is already at a premium for me, especially with the aforementioned Oblivion and games like Sacred 2 installed, which can take up to 30gb of drive space. Plus, my wife would have an absolute coniption if she saw 20-30 games installed at once.

It just makes my life a hell of a lot easier.

TBH, you can do all of that on Windows quite easily, just finding a couple of free programs would have made it seem infinitely faster. For example Defraggler and CCleaner are probably the best out there.

Computer maintenance is the thing most people don't do and is what leads to the slow-creeping-death of your computer. If your make isn't slowing down then it sounds like you have kept on top of it :D

But that wouldn't solve the hardware issue :p

In my opinion when your Mac gets too old I would advise getting a PC, purely from the economic point of view it's a lot cheaper, in the short term and long. And if you are willing to learn there is a massive amount more it can offer you in comparison :D
I'm tempted to, definitely. The problem is that I HATE Vista, XP won't be getting support much longer, and I haven't exactly been hearing good things about Windows 7. I know that macs have a lot of things going against them - the OS needing an update every two years, a lack of games, cost, etc. - but the alternative...
To be honest Windows Vista was a trainwreck, but Windows 7, in comparison, get's 'put down' a lot more than it should be. It's actually quite good. There's a few small things that are mildly annoying - but nothing 'game-breaking'.

An alternative, if you're feeling adventurous, is Linux - which is like a free version of Windows along with a whole set of free programs. If you went that route you'd almost certainly want Ubuntu which is probably the most user friendly and 'familiar' of the Linux OS's :)
Linux scares me :S
If Windows 7 has managed to pick up the pieces after Vista smashed them to bits,[footnote]Then tied them up and put them in the back of a car, then drove to a set of train tracks, then put them on the train tracks, then filled them with bullets, then let the train run over them, then put them in a bad sit-com, then... etc.[/footnote] then I'll probably consider it. It'd be nice to have a proper gaming PC again, although Steam looks like it may very well get its act together for macs anyway.

Nope, I only uninstall it if I don't like the game and have no intention of completing it. Which is rare. If I finish it I might want to play it again so I leave it on there.

Totally uninstall. Gotta save the HD space. I actually see my uninstalled list on Steam as the sort of trophy rack you mention.

nope, i'm at 100+ installed games right now, i'll only reconsider this policy when my 1TB drive nears capacity. At the moment my steam partition is at 373/570GB and my non-steam games partition is at 165/292GB so no need to even think about it yet.

Not when i've finished, if I haven't played for awhile then I might. Will uninstall demo's normally pretty quickly though.

Depends on whether I plan to replay the game in the foreseeable future or not. Favorite games tend to be allowed to stay, while games I didn't like that much goes off quicker.

Windows 7 works great, even Linux would be fine!

Don't bend over and accept Apple's OS into your hard drive

I only uninstall the absolute worst games, and then the games that have zero replay potential.

Each game tends to sit there on my desktop for about a month afterwards, if I havent touched it in said month then I'm not likely too again and I'll uninstall it.

I do keep finished games partly for the replay value and partly because I am lazy.

I keep every game I love installed, as I'll usually play it again sometime. I rarely uninstall games that I merely enjoyed as my save file, and all my progress would be lost. I only uninstall games that I'll never play again and don't care about the save files for, but I usually prefer buying a portable hard-drive to provide the extra space I need (otherwise I wouldn't uninstall the game, unless I really disliked it, then I'd uninstall it instantly) instead.

I've only uninstalled a couple of games, but 99% of the time i'll keep it installed because i know i'll probably play it again some time. Plus my hard drive is big enough i can have as many games installed and its not an issue

Nah. I'll only uninstall a game if I haven't played it in a while and my computer needs space. Mostly because I play a lot of online games on PC so I can't really beat them.

Not usually.
Because I'm probably going to sit down to play it again in another month or two.
