I have a Kindle 3. I love it. I live on the beach and it's almost always so windy that reading a book outside is just a struggle to hold down pages. Plus, all these public domain books I've gotten from Project Gutenberg [http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page] can go on there so I don't have to read them on a computer (which is hard to read in sunlight). And it's great to have a such a compact library to take with me.

Why no love for the nook?
The Nook screen is hard to read in sunlight. That's a massive negative to me.

I love books
Real books
Paper books

I love the smell of books
I love the feel of books

The smell of an old book brings back millions of memories
The feel of an old book brings back millions of memories

This is an experience that no digital reader can ever reproduce.

It's not that I'm attached to pages or anything, I just don't see why you would want one. I never read more than one book at a time, and books are portable on their own anyway.

I got a Nook recently and I'm really enjoying it. It's so much more convenient for me to carry with me on the bus than a paper book is.

Not to mention that my professors give me enough paper to haul around, thanks.

I think I might be the one person in the world who absolutely despises physical books. I read precisely 5 books from ages 0-19 of my own volition in the pre computer age. Personally my eyes are screwed up and I have trouble reading black text on white background. Also the way books are designed is a PITA to hold comfortably, especially if your trying to lay down and read. Since I started using Dingo/Caanoo Ive read 16 books of my own volition(since mid 2009). So for me.. its digital format or nothing.

Also being a student i 1000 times prefer a digital copy to a regular book. With a regular book you have to sit and read long passages or the whole text to find one reference. Whereas with digital copies having the keyword find feature in both word and PDF what would take hours takes seconds. Digital all the way.

EDIT: for those who need filler material for a lacking digital library I humbly link
http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page for all your free reading.
