Poll: Do you use auto aim?

When I was playing CoD WaW my auto aim (which I thought I turned off) screwed up my aim by locking on to someone who I wasn't aiming for. This made me wonder how many people use auto aim or don't because of certain reasons. I usually don't because it screws up my aim more often than it helps.

PS There is a thread about this but it doesn't have a poll.

On games like RDR , yes because hitting someone while me and him both are riding like crazy on a wagon is hard.
On FPS games , screws up the aiming and i might shoot an exploding barrel a billion miles away instead of that guy 2 meters from me.

I assumed that you were talking about pcs which was a stupid assumption of Darth Maul's. And I never use auot aim.

For consoles I almost have to for my one FPS. For my pc I would never.

If there is a mouse involved, then I don't see how it is necessary.

I couldn't aim a console controller to save my virtual life. Simple as that. Auto-aim helps a little, I suppose. But it's a supplement, not a replacement, for actually aiming skills.

I like console controllers and never use auto aim, I also like mouses on PC, tbh their as easy as each other.
I find auto aim more annoying then its worth.

On games that really require it (Resistance: Retribution), I'll use it, but in general, I don't.

If it's on by default, it stays on. If it's not, it stays off.

Not on PC, EVER, but for Goldeneye, Army Men: Sarge's Heroes and such, I love auto-aim.

Exactly. I can't stand autoaim about 80% of the time. Exceptions will come on certain things such as PSP shooters (since the controls aren't exactly the easiest in the world) and anything esle without analogue sticks/mouse-keyboard options. But if it is on any of the newer consoles or on keyboard.... Well I like aiming it myself.

most games it ends up pissing me off because it'll stick to someone in a group gun battle and i dont want it to, and ill end up dying because of it, and i can aim pretty damn good with my sticks so its more of a learning curve i think for beginners or for people who just can't use console sticks

No, and I'm sick of finding out half way through the game that some sort of Aim Assist has automatically been on the entire time. "Oh", I think, "That's why it was so fricking easy. Well, thanks, game."
