Yeah, where's the "Only if I'm stuck" or "Only if this game is so bad that I need to use this just to finish it" options on the poll? Because that's the only reasons I use a walkthrough, otherwise I just finish it on my own.

I only use it if a game insists on using repetitive puzzles to engage me (Golden Sun's "puzzles" got old really quick).

I also use gamefaqs to determine whether or not I'd enjoy a game based on reading the mechanics and premise.

If I am unable/willing to continue playing a game from frustration, I from time to time look up what to do, or how to do it.

I used a faq for Limbo 3 times. I am kinda ashamed of that to be honest.

Add an option there saying "It's physically impossible to read Gamefaqs and play my game at the same time.". My internet computer and my PS3 are in separate rooms.

Ok, added a couple of options more... I gotta say. I myself just used them on the second run (if I ever) since I feel dirty when I win spoiling the surprises and/or not thinking through the puzzles myself. But that's just me.

ONLY if I beat the game first. Although there was one time I was stuck on something and had to find the answer to a quiz so I used Gamefaqs. The only exception!!

Unless I get completely and utterly stuck I prefer to do my first run completely blind. No guides, no hints, no mods, no external information whatsoever.
This. Second playthrough is fair game, though. How else am I gonna do some things? Like get every Persona? Good luck without help.

depends on the game i try most of them without using that but if the stuff changes the ending then I'll use it to find out if i care about the other endings or if it has a true ending.

I'd put together two of those options: "Only if I'm stuck" and "Just if I want the 100% achivements/trophies/completion."

I love Gamefaqs. Been using it for years. I prefer to beat a game without help, but every once in a while I run into something that stumps me and Gamefaqs has always come through. On my way through Twilight Princess recently, I kept a printed out checklist of golden bug and heart piece locations that I found on Gamefaqs. They really came in handy.

Most times it's if I'm completely and utterly stuck. I'll give puzzles and things a really good go, but if it's getting to the point of suckage, I'll look up what I'm doing wrong.

If I go for 100%, for doing optional content, I'll usually look at a guide - usually will try and find secrets and things on the first pass, but if I miss any, chances are I'll need a guide to find 'em.

If Im really stuck on doing something I go looking for tips, but I never read detailed walkthroughs or stuff like that. They just ruin the experience for me.

I did cheat to get the true ending in P4, admittedly. The bad endings are depressing, to say the least.

Yes and no. On one hand, I love to get the full experience out of the game on my own, experience all the surprises and find everything it has to offer. On the other hand, I really hate trying to figure out what the hell I'm supposed to do for my next Trophy when the clues aren't very intuitive. Usually my middle ground is "beat the game the fun way, and then go back for stuff", but when my friend and I are Trophy-farming on my PS3 account, we usually crack open a walkthrough and tell the other what to do next for Trophies and in-game unlocks.

Atlus started it with bad design in a certain conversation. I call fair. :p

I only use GameFaqs under extreme conditions. Like if I've been beaten by a boss at least 3 times, without even getting close to beating him.

Other than that, I DO use GameFaqs for pokemon-related stuff, but only after I've beaten the main story. You know, for finding hidden TMs and the like.

Only if I need to or if I want to find something or do something but am clueless as fuck. Example being trying to find some of the Djinn in any of the Golden Sun games. Clever hiding for some of them... Hell, some are only accessible after returning to a city near the beginning of the game in the near end of the game when you are able to sail around.

I'll use it for one of two reasons,I'm really stuck or for something too insane to do on my own like the P3 Max S-Link

As I'm as obsessive a collector as you'll ever find, I make a point of completing a game absolutely 100%. I find that most of the satisfaction comes from doing the work myself but I have found (with Okami's stray beads, for example) times where my frustration was sucking the fun out of the experience and ended up with me resorting to guides.

I'm not opposed to using them for regular gameplay either, though generally under the same conditions, i.e. near rage-quitting point. Though I've actually found that most of my friends, and my father, tend to have a guide waiting for what I'd really class as trivial tasks. They'll tend to resort to it far faster than I would (I usually try to solve the problem for at least 2 hours straight, 2-3 days if I'm only playing in little segments).
