No thank you, or just have him do a brief cameo.

I only used him for his loyalty mission, and nothing else anyways. I would have just skipped it and allowed him to be killed on the "suicide" mission, but then Miranda would probably be miffed at me and I just can't have that.

..So essentially, I couldn't care less about the character as a whole save his relationship with one another crew member that may dislike me later on.

Off topic: Kelly better fucking be in ME3 above all things, for me. I went lesbian for her with my female Shepard (my favorite Shepard) in the end over fucking Garrus Bad-Ass McAwesome Vakarian, no less..

Oh god no he was so bland and uninteresting. There is a reason why female players choose the goddamn ALIEN guys over him. I have a feeling they just added him so that there was a human male love interest. Even his loyalty quest was made of fail.

Do not want.
Second time I've quoted you recently.

He's a boring as hell character no doubt about, he provides very little to the overall storyline. He was only brought into it at the beginning to help establish the Cerberus connection and then when you're doing the loyalty mission.
He offers nothing in terms of combat either, essentially he's just a cheerleader for "Team Shepard" and will just do as you say because he's moronically loyal.

He's Kaiden.2 and that's definitely not a good thing.
The Kaiden 2 quip got me thinking...is it just me, or are none of the human teammates in either Mass Effect particularly interesting?

Not unless they have a vagina, penis' are cause for limp personality.

Jack: Biotically enhanced psycho *****.
Ashely Williams: Militant space rascist.
Miranda Lawson: Made in a lab to be awesome and have a great posterior.

compared with the guys.

Kaiden: Implants in his head are giving him a headache.
Jacob: Was in the alliance, now in Cerberus. He is black though, so he's racially diverse at least.

How do you explain him coming back from the dead after the suicide mission? ;p

Ah, he was alright. Forgettable filler, fairly uninteresting man. But he was an upright decent fellow who did what he had to do in the quickest and most efficient manner possible. For some reason, this attitude tends to make people boring to talk to, but also gives me the impression that he's quite the respectable chap. Doesn't make him any less bland, though.
Pretty much this. The guy seemed an all right chap, and I've got nothing against him. In reality he seems like the sort of person you'd want to have watching your back or working for you. Honest, moral, hardworking, trustworthy. But also boring. Let's face it he didn't do a lot to endear himself to us and he wasn't very interesting. To make matters worse for a 'matter of fact' soldier he had the worst power set and weapon loadout of any NPC. So it's not like he was even useful to bring on missions nor could he win us over by being a good fighter. The guy didn't even have a sense of humor. You could make jokes and he'd be like "I don't know about that commander, nose to the grind stone." Everyone wants to be friends with a funny person but Jacob was a consummate stiff.

I suppose Bioware is to be given some credit actually for thinking about that sort of person. Not everyone is going to have a colorful personality. Such people do exist, they included one and we now know why they aren't usually made into RPG party members. I like him, but only because he seems a respectable guy. I won't object if he makes an appearance, but I'm not going to push to have him as a squad member. Those are resources that could be spent bringing Miranda onto the ship.

Yes, but only if I can eat what remains of his family in front of him.

Renegade Shep would totally do it, too.

I'm pretty sure Jacob only exists to balance out Miranda's[footnote]Apparently "Miranda's" is not a word. You know what IS a word? "Myranda's". And "Jacaranda's". Sure, spellcheck. Sure.[/footnote] hotness by throwing some meat to the ladies as well.

So...I really don't care. I guess if he's not a squad member, then would leave more room for more interesting characters, though. So there's that.

Meh. Keep him as a cameo. I didn't really care for him, but he was an alright guy and his loyalty mission was actually pretty good.

Who?

...

Oh. The boring one. Who was useless in combat.

No thanks. I don't mind him showing up at some point, but I'd rather that my actual squad places go to good characters.

It'd be nice to at least see him, but he doesn't need to be in the party. As long as he says "priiiiize" at some point, then it's all good.

Who knows, maybe for ME3 he'll become the Mass Effect universe's version of Lando Calrissian.

It wouldn't bother me, granted he wasn't one of my favorites but just because he wasn't all that interesting doesn't mean he shouldn't be involved.
I might not cheer for him returning but I wouldn't boo it either.

I never used him beyond the starting mission (until I could replace him with Zaeed, and later others), and for his own loyalty mission which was rather meh.

Jacob was boring as hell. At least Kaidan had his conflicts with his implant to give him a personality hook, Jacob just had daddy issues. If he is in ME3 he'll just get a bunk on the ship if he must and I'll happily forget about him for the rest of the game.

All I need/want in my main alt's crew are Tali and a biotic -- unless they finally give us more companions than just two to take along.

Between 128 people either don't like him or wouldn't want him to be playable (although none of the sqaud members are really 'playable' as such, more like, accessable).

Never found him interesting, really stupid side mission, very bland soldier type character overall as well. Now Miranda, mm, bring her back, yes please!

It's more important to me to have Wrex as a playable (accessable) character, Liara I don't mind, but she'd still be better than Jacob.

I don't want him to be. Kaidan is already back. We don't need two bland soldiers on the team at once.I can only take so much uninterestingness.

I voted other!

The reason? Because he works for Cerberus who don't want to play nice any more.

I'm hoping that he turns up & you get to poke him a few times with your omni tool / blade
