No, I do not. I feel that a relationship with my significant other need not be strengthened by the fact that, once the hatred sets in, I lose half of my stuff anything she wants.

I don't like relying on an unjust legal system for such matters.

No desire to get married/identify myself as a married person. I definitely feel pressure and a certain awkwardness at times around my family and coworkers, since I've been with the same boyfriend for seven and a half years and we've been living together for almost three. I'd be content with things they way they are.

I think i´m a bit too young to get married. First, i want to gain finantial independence, then i´ll think about such things. I dont WANT to get married, but if my significant other would desire to do so, i wouldnt mind.

Urgh, no!

I pretty much agree entirely with Doug Stanhope on this topic, a quick youtube search and you'll find the clip, probably not a good idea for me to embed it though.
This completely. Always glad to see other fans of Doug Stanhope, he's one of my favourite stand up comedians and a genius.

If I get in a long term relationship, I don't need the government or a church to recognize it.

I would like to marry my GF but I'm unsure when or, how to ask. I should probably wait until she's done with college but that's about all I have to go on.

No, not particularly, it seems to me like an arbitrary convention based around religious beliefs that I do not subscribe to.
Maybe for the purposes of keeping the any official paperwork out the way should I ever find myself in such a relationship and should such paperwork be required to help facilitate said relationship.
Other than that though, it just feels unnecessary. Why should I need to marry someone? Isn't mutual love and trust enough for a relationship to be successful?

Perhaps it is this sort of attitude that has prevented me from ever having any romantic relationship with anyone in the first place.

Ye-nope.

I see absolutely no point in marraige at all, except maybe a few legal things if you're on your learner's license. Who the hell gets married before they're about 17 anyway -.-

I'm actually not sure. I do like the idea of being married to someone and having them be yours in every way but I don't see marriage as a necissary step in a relationship. If I were to get married I don't think I'd bother with the huge ceremony with a million guests or anything like that but more something that I think that me and my boyfriend would like.

Not really. I'd like a long time relationship but I don't see the point of marriage.

Well, I've been quoted twice now, I was hoping my last part would show I'm not entirely against it, but I'll just state, I don't think it's for me, but I wouldn't wish to see it banned, I think it's great....for some people. I just don't see marriage as something I'd aim for, and I do wonder how many guys really desperately want to get married, it's always seemed a rather female led thing to me. (that's started another one off, lol)

I'm just saying, it's generally not the guy sorting out bridesmaids and reception seating plans and cake orders and the like :)

Totally!

Its like the man says "If marriage didn't exist, would you invent it?"
