I hate the Ultimate spider-man TV show. it was a gradual process, at first it merely annoyed me, but now I really, really hate it. i hate its voice acting, plot, characters, jokes and most of all, spider-man. I'm not here to talk about Ultimate spider-man though, I already made a thread on that. every week, I always watch Ultimate spider-man. every week. and I know I'm going to dislike it, and I usually do (whether because its really bad or because it followed after spectacular spider-man, one of my favourite shows) and yet I have watch all 7 episodes (so far).

so do you watch any shows you know you don't like, and if so, why do you do it, or why do you think I do?

Not usually. If I think something is bad I will give up on it quite quickly, though I did keep watching Enterprise fairly regularly for a long time in the hope it would improve. It didn't.

However if I really love a series I will suffer through bad runs - like season 5 of The West Wing. Even then I won't last forever - I thought Tennant's last year of Doctor Who was almost entirely awful, and the specials were worse, but it took until halfway through Matt Smith's first year for me to lose interest altogether. Even so, I'll catch up on it eventually. After all, it took me twenty years to forgive Peter Davison for not being Tom Baker.

If stuff like 'Teen Cribs' and 'My Super Sweet 16' count as bad shows, then sure. They're hilarious, and seeing as I rarely get a chance to watch them (typically on holiday when I do) it's not gotten old yet...

If I don't like a show, I don't tend to watch it. The only exception are shows that were once good, that I have invested in, and that have then gone into a slow decline. In that case I'm usually hoping the show will turn around. But if it doesn't I'll usually drop it after a while (for example, Heroes). That said, I'm sure there are shows I like that other people think are bad (for example, Eastenders). But if I'm watching it, I find value in it. I'm not the type to watch thing I think are bad in some sort of hipster-ironic way.

I've thought about it and I'm happy to say no.

Otherwise I would have been a hypocrit for despising those who say
"I do watch Jersey Shore/The Only Way is Essex etc. but only to laugh AT the people on the show, not WITH them."

Well you're still making them rich.

When I used to be in a Boarding School, watching TV would be the only form of entertainment, and the majority of the times I was forced to endure things like MTV cribs and Miami Ink.

(Although I found watching Dog the Bounty Hunter hilarious, because it was hilariously bad)

Not shows, because I'd rather not waste so much time on something that makes me cringe.

I love bad movies (like The Room), though.

LOL I watch that as well, to see people doing ridiculous things for the sake of popularity.

I try to stay away from bad shows, but if a show that I was loving suddenly turns into absolute crap, I sometimes keep watching for a short time in the futile hope it'll get better.

there's already so many awesome shows we don't have the time to watch...why would anyone waste time on a show they don't like?

It depends on the show. For example I hate Doctor who since Steven Moffat took over the writing. Matt Smith is an ok actor but the episodes have just been so boring. And do not even get me started on River BLOODY Song. But I still watch it whenever it is on. The new Thundercats on the other hand. I just cannot watch it anymore for one very important reason. Tygra is SUCH a Douche. How can anyone like that guy?

You're not the only one who had been watching Ultimate Spiderman and that is the only bad show I'm currently watching. As for why, how else can I pass the time? (Yes there are other stuff but I'm talking about watching stuff).

If I dislike a show and can't see me liking it later, or don't think the payoff is worth the current mediocrity, I'll drop the show. Why watch crap when I have a backlog of great stuff?

mainly no, but if there's a bad show and shopchannel on I watch the show, but I'd have to be to sick to move away from teh couch fro that to happen. Or at a friends place if everyone else likes ashow and they wana watch it I won't start arguing about it.

I'm pretty restrained these days, only ever watching Made in Chelsea/The only way is Essex (the UK equivalent of Jersey Shores) if I'm feeling mental.

Although, my boyfriend makes me watch Psychic Today if I'm naughty. THE HORROR
