So am I, but I don't. I like having self control.
That would be a strawman, thank you. Plenty of porn watchers have a great deal of self-control. Porn can be viewed for simple entertainment, for sexual arousal, or both. Embracing one's sexual desires in a controlled environment is everything but un-controlled.
Can you stop on the drop of a hat forever?

EDIT: That was a really bad question.

Can you stop on the drop of a hat for a year?
Why?

The problem is, there's no REASON to do so. If you're addicted, of course it's hard to give up. If you aren't addicted, then there's no reason to give it up, so what's the point? Lots of people like lots of things they aren't interested in giving up. I like reading, would I give it up for a year? Of course not, that's absurd. Doesn't mean I have a "problem".

Just about every single day. I was seeing a girl recently and we used to enjoy watching it together, even made a few of our own for our private collection.

watching a movie about africa is more practical and possible than scraping tons of money together, waiting months for a passport, going through "security", getting tons of shots just to end up prolly ashamed to be an american

kinda what its like being a socially awkward 21 year old male in relation to sex

Yeah I watch it often. Of course if I get off it I regret it most times because the conclusion wasn't that good. Has this happened to people before?

And cancer, allegedly.
Well, prostate cancer, at least ^-^

Anyway, I do sometimes, but not really that often. It doesn't really do anything for me, especially real porn. It's just... ugh >>

Besides, I've got quite an active imagination, so there's no need for it :3

I've been watching a lot of porn lately because I'm stuck at college with nothing to do for a couple of days and I'm alone. All my friends got to go home already but I have a final on Monday :/

Can you stop on the drop of a hat for a year?
Likely, depending on the variables in my life at the time.

But then again, the question I would pose in return:

Why would I want to?

Or another question I could equally pose:

Could you give up gaming at the drop of a hat for a year?
Yes. Yes I have.

(That's why I reposed the question at one year.)

And I know some major porn addicts who stop functioning properly after about a day without porn. I don't know any "game-or-die" gamers. Thus, I feel that porn is a good deal more addicting than, say, games. And I don't want to expose myself to that.

That's true, but I dare you to find me anyone who would begin flipping out without books for a week. At least half the guys I know would go murderous without porn for a week.

From my experience, anyone who says "I'm not addicted to porn" is either not watching porn at all or is lying to themselves.

Porn is really quite a thing of "You either like it, or you don't". Watch it once or twice, you feel disgusted by it, you'll likely never come back to it. Watch it once or twice and you feel intrigued or aroused by it, you'll likely come back for more.

I could quite frankly mention a heck of hardcore WoW players that treat WoW as though their very existence. Or hardcore Everquest players. Or hardcore Dungeons and Dragons players. Gaming can be just as addicting as porn can, under the right circumstances. But neither is inherently addicting on it's own merits.

You personally don't have to watch porn at all if you don't want to. No one is making you do so. Just don't erect ignorant strawmen like "porn is a lack of self-control". It is rather insulting to people who watch it and maintain self-control in life, like myself, in general.

Living away from home, you'd think I'd watch more but I actually watch less. Up to once a day, but I'd say I more often not watch porn than do.

I last an hour, I barely have time to go once a day.

Who cares? Just because there's something people COULD become addicted to, doesn't make it dangerous for all. PLENTY of people are addicted to video games, and I've no doubt in my mind there are people who are addicted to reading. Television, chocolate, physical activity, tennis, Kool-Aid, and Cap'n Crunch cereal. For every THING, there's someone who's addicted to it.

You're either wildly exaggerating about the "guys you know", or you have some sort of weird attraction to addictive personalities. Start hanging out with more emotionally stable people.

And as for your "experience", your experience is wrong (see above regarding your damaged social circle/exaggeration problems). Sorry to break it to you.
