My dad plays the Metal of Honor series on the PC.

But then he changes the default keymap around and it kinda bugs the hell out of me. I've gotten used to all 4 systems (Wii, Xbox, PS3, PC) and I can see the merits of the default setups for each. That's probably why it bothers me.

If solitaire, spider solitaire and hearts count then yes.
If not then my father used to play zippy racer on NES when we had one.

Yeah, my dad used to play the quake games, and he's the one who got me "into" gaming, playing co-op Halo 1 with me when I was 7 (not exactly the most responsible parent ever), which kicked off me actually giving a crap about games. He still plays the Halo games, and that is all he plays.

they both do, as well as aunts and uncles play. my father has a wii and plays a few times a week, then when hes with my uncle they will challenge each other to game. uncle is 70 years old and my father is 64 and they have a blast playing. then when my aunt is there they all get going in play the winner. my father also likes racing games but hes not good at it and its fun to watch him crash allot.

my mother plays PC casual point and click puzzle games and her husband played railroad tycoon, and several casino type games like a slot machine or video poker.

I am 40 myself and a father so i will answer for my daughter.... yep i play games! FPS, RTS, MMO, hell anything that has a PC version. I dont own a console myself wich sux because theres a few titles I would like to play but not enough to justify buying one when the majority of my gaming will be on my PC. regardless i do enjoy showing allot of "kiddies" who learned camp or bunny hop, noob tube, spray and pray, run and gun.... general noob fps playstyle how good position and tactics can be pure pwnage in any other game than garbage COD.

and my cousin who is a father is one of the most frustrating snipers in a game ever if hes on the other team but excelent for the team he is on. he does 1 shot 1 kill all day long. takes the shot and moves to a new location. all the while giving his team info on where the enemy is at and what they are doing. and then in cqb he is deadly with a knife and pistol.

this poll could use some more options, i said no, but my parents do play solitaire, minesweeper, and angry birds sparingly. so i think more no than yes.

The Wii, my sisters Rayman spin off games (Raving Rabbids?) and WiiSports. Dad used to play PS1 games with me, Final Doom, Alone in the Dark, Rayman, and some PS2, but this was years ago. He's quite technophobic now.

Both my parents have no coordination for FPS's and mash buttons on fighting games, but they are persistent...

My mom is an old school person(she is 54yo)so she's not into video games.

My dad on the other hand liked to play on the gameboy back in 2003(Gameboy pocket). He would keep all the Mario games to himself and not share the bastard =P.

My dad played Half-Life 1 and Quake 2 back in the day. Since he didn't upgrade his computer since those times, he doesn't play anything now.

My mom loooooves CTR, ans often asks me to bring it along with my PS3 when I visit her for a long period. She also plays Wolfenstein 3D and the old school Dooms.

But recent games sail right over their heads.

Well, my mum plays used to play all those casual games of Facebook, then moved away from that. Now she usually plays game on her Ipad, like angry birds or scrabble. Occasionally she'll get out the Wii for a game of Donkey Kong country returns or Wii fit, but not too often.

My dad used to play some shooters when I was younger. His sight got really bad at one point and he had to quit. He rocked at Goldeneye. He beat the hardest difficulties way before me (I was only in 4th grade), and was good at the Genesis shooters with the light gun. My mom has been a Nintendo fan for a while, sorta. She owns a Wii herself but it was her who owned our original Atari and NES. She keeps up to date with some things for my sake, though, for holidays. Sometimes tha doesn't go so well. I'm looking at you, Black Ops.

No, they do not play them. But I might show them some easy games they might enjoy. (they haven't played a real video-game in like 8-10 years)

...She pretty good at the GTA part.
I find that endlessly amusing.

OT: Nope.

My mum doesn't, but I suspect that's because she knows nothing about it. She was surprised when I told her that games could be scary...

My dad on the other hand plays them all the time nowadays (more than me, recently). Basically just Mario Kart and Black Ops multiplayer on the Wii (he's clocked 100s of hours on that)...he admittedly doesn't understand how games can be fun when they aren't competitive. But he enjoys himself, even though he is terrible. You'd think practice would make perfect, but no.
