I have a Zune and still use it because I don't like Apple products and because the Zune HD is actually pretty good. I ask the question above because I am surrounded by people with Ipods and Iphones and I think I am the only person who uses a Zune. So let me hear your answer.

Hell yes, I love my Zune HD. I really like it because it has a clean, elegant, and quick interface that is *gasp*, designed for listening to music first and foremost. It may not be all that great at using apps (in fact you can't get the apps anymore, at least not from the Zune software), and the web browser is shitty, but it so good a music player, which is all I really care about. I will be very sad when the thing eventually croaks.

I used to have a Zune HD myself. I actually really liked the little thing and thought it was a pretty underrated device that never really got the attention it deserved.

... then about six months ago it got stolen. Soooo I'm back to my nearly 10 year old Creative Zen Vision:M, which despite its age is holding out pretty well.

I agree with you completely.

I couldn't imagine losing my Zune with all my music on it.

I've got a Zune, one of the first ones. I can't use it right now though since I don't have the Zune software, but I love it. I can just use it for listening to music

I considered buying one when they were first released but never got around to it. But I still have by 5 year old Creative Zen to keep my ear places full of the musics. £50 well spent considering it's lasted longer than some of my more expensive electrical goods. Meanwhile my friends who bow down to the apple are regularly having to replace their ipods at great expense.

So whilst I'm not a Zunite, I don't see the point of apple stuff or why folks are so in love with them. I reckon it's because they want to be cool and unique like everyone else.

Heh, I've got an old ass 80GB Zune, and I just love the thing. Especially since I got it to replace my iPod when that thing finally decided to kick off. Best music player I've owned, hands down.

I remember when the Zune first came out, I was offered either that or a Zen. I took the Zen because it has speakers and can play music without headphones (albeit at a fairly low quality). I don't necessarily regret it - the Zen served me pretty well (and probobly still would, if I hadn't dropped it into water) - but I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Zune that makes me feel like I missed out a bit. I grew a particular fondness for it when I discovered that one of the versions of it had a Grandaddy song pre-installed, who were one of my faveorite bands growing up.

You can get the software online I believe.

Right now I only have access to a Mac Computer though. And I'd rather just wait until I can get a windows computer than bother with the different apps and stuff

I had a small Zune that I used for years. I actually really liked the thing and would still use it were it not for the fact that it now has a battery life measured in seconds.

The closest I ever got to using a Zune was years back, a teacher's assistant told us how he bought his daughter a Zune, and the class laughed at him.

I've had a Zune HD since I was a senior in High School 4 years ago, and I'm a big fan of it. When I first got it I talked about it so much that 3 of my friends picked one up too, they all like it as well.

Mine seems to be on its last legs though, unfortunately. Battery life is starting to drop off, the inteface is starting to lag a bit, and last month it did this weird thing where it was playing all my music at around 150% speed. I'm probably going to end up getting an iPod once my Zune finally bites the dust, but I'm probably not going to be happy about it.

I have an old Zune 80 and Zune 120. I enjoyed them quite a bit until the software started acting wonky (it got pretty fickle with what songs it could find and subsequently play).

Now I'm constantly stalking the Consumer Reports website trying to see what's a good alternative that is not an Apple product of some kind.

I picked up a used 30 gig one for 40 bucks a few years back, it has served me well in that time but lately I've been having lots of firmware issues with it, namely that it doesn't free up space when I delete things. Still works great, I just can't put anything new on it, lol.

If you're into doing things for yourself here's another alternative that'll help you get more years out of your currently existing Zune.

You may need to do a full reset on it then, that usually fixes the issue. You should be able to find the instructions all over the internets. If not that it may be time to look into a new hard drive for it though it would cost more than what you paid for the device itself.

I had a 30 GB that I used for about three years before the hard drive died, then I got an 80 GB one that I still use for listening to podcasts. I have an Android powered Samsung playing that I use for everything else these days but I still like my Zune and I'll be sad when it dies unless I decide to repair it if parts are still available for it.

They weren't bad devices, they were just terribly marketed and heads at Microsoft should've rolled for blowing almost the entire advertising budget on ONE 30 second commercial featuring Jerry Fucking Seinfeld that didn't even really feature the product and made no goddamn sense at all because Seinfeld was the show about nothing LOL.

I had one of the first 120GB ones, and apparently they had a common problem of the hard drives failing or some such. I had to replace it three times, and eventually someone knocked it down and the screen cracked, which eventually led to it failing again. By then Microsoft had stopped support, so I opted for the 160GB ipod because I needed the space and it was the best for the price.
