Eh, she's... iffy. The parodies of her songs are great though. "Can't beat my, can't beat my, no they can't beat my Brooklyn Rage"
I am going to have to agree with this and say it is basically in-line with my opinion. Her songs have subtly and either contain or are metaphors which can't really be said for much else right now. Her lyrics aren't random reaches for rhymes or what have you like a lot of what else is popular right now. What little I have heard of her is enjoyable. I have no idea what is with her attire, but I am not judging her off of that.zehydra said:

I don't like her music. She's annoying, I don't like the over the top love of her. I don't like what she seems to think of herself (although not sure if srs and a *****, or just trolling).
So no, there's nothing about her that I like, I'm sure she's not a horrible person though.
Oh and her voice when talking, rather than singing, is fucking horrific. It makes me want to punch things.

I actually quite like The Ga, especially her new album, experimenting with different types of music, it's not all synth pop, there's a nice mix of different styles. As for her image, well every star needs a way of grabbing attention, The Ga chooses to do this by looking like she's walked through a car boot sale covered in glue.
I like Lady Gaga a lot actually, but I think she tries way too hard to differentiate herself from other artists. Having said that, I do think she has successfully created her own unique style of music that others have tried to copy. Even if you don't like her music, which is understandable, see some of her videos and you'll probably agree that she's a pretty incredible performance artist.
Like her music? It's nothing spectacular. I won't turn it off if I hear it but I won't go out of my way to listen to it either. Find her an amusing character? Absolutely. Bottom line: she's funny and I have no problem with her.
get a grip people, unplug your computers, write a song and music with one tenth of the talent she has then cast your opinions on her, who the hell are you to say she's boring? good god man

The biggest thing for me, though, is that she actually tries to personify the whole, "Its OK to be who you are" through being such a big weirdo that it doesn't really matter.
People may call you a freak, but you'll never be as damn bizarre as Gaga, and then when you consider her career, being a bit freaky isn't even all that bad.
I know a lot of people take this as her being pointlessly deviant, but there are plenty of young people out there who take it to heart and are better off for it.

Lady gaga isn't my sort of music when her general music isn't being supremely infectious but I haven't heard about her as much so its only really annoying when anytime an oddly dressed character/fashionista is automatically a lady gaga inspired person (been watching a lot of clips including photo finish and sapphire shores) It's people having a beef with justin beiber that I find extremely annoying and I don't care for his music at all. He's just a kid let him stand in the spotlight in peace someone will push him off after all popular music is very much driven by constantly changing tastes and demographics.
I like her. Getting a little sick of her seemingly messianic status in the gay male community (as if we were so lacking in attention from cheesy female pop stars) but other than that, she endeavours to be something different and she cares about presenting herself as something more than the worlds most vanilla-flavoured human being, and it's a start.
Musically, it's easy to forget how bad mainstream pop used to be. If you'd really rather go back to the days of having the same sampled piano in every song and vocalists singing every note in the harmonic scale then feel free to whip out a late 90s Now That's What I Call Music compilation and lock yourself far away from me you mad, mad bastard.
