I don't have a problem with gays at all. If they do hit on me, I just politely tell them not interested, and if they leave it at that, then all is good. The problem comes when someone doesn't get the hint and keeps on going at after I have repeatedly and politely asked them to stop. (I had a former friend who was like this.) But it would be the exact same if a girl I wasn't interested in was doing the same.
Hey Drake. This happened to a friend of mine also. Annoyed him to no end. Unrequited love on a rather serious scale and it ended the relationship after a time. I am sure there was a shrine somewhere, judging from his telling.

I'd being lying if I said that I don't occasionally feel slightly uncomfortable around homosexuals, but on the whole I don't have a problem with gays.

I'm one of those girls that thinks gay guys are awesome (in other words; a yaoi fangirl :p) so I'm about as non-homophobic as you can get. I don't have anything against lesbians either. In fact... I could well be bisexual, who knows.

I hate homophobes with a passion, I fantasize often about teaming up with Samus Aran and blowing up the WBC...

Then maybe asking her to go for a drink... X3

It depends on if they're are "showy" and obvious about it, otherwise I don't mind.
Reminds me of a decent principle to follow: You're still a man. Act like it.

Course they do. I find now I'm older there aren't as many of the coverty gays than there was at say college. Course at college I was busy trying to convert everyone to metal so I don't really have room to talk. I've only ever been bothered about people trying to change me, but that goes for everything, and to be fair I can't say I've not tried to change people into liking the things I do. I'm going no-where with this again, doesn't bother me, but it blatantly bothers a lot of people.
Fortunately, it's gotten to the point where the blatantly bigoted congregate in dark corners of the internet and not really anywhere in real life. And when they do rally in public, it's usually in areas that are overwhelmingly Democratic, and the response is a nice, healthy dose of non-lethal force from local PDs.

I definitely don't like to see gay couples going heavy on the PDA, but then again I also hate seeing heterosexual couples doing the same. So long as I don't see other people's tonsil hockey games I'm pretty much OK with whatever their orientation may be.

Guess I agree with this.
Usually it doesn't bother me at all.
But then there is gay and gay.
Some people are just so very... stereotypically gay and that's when it begins bothering me.
Normally, I don't mind though.

It's basically the same with every stereotype, I guess.
Like, I don't mind blonde girls (on the contrary!), but sometimes, every now and then, you meet one that is so... enormously stupid, self-centered, screechy and loud that...
That...
Yeah.

Gay marriage should be legal everywhere.

Dogma should not be allowed in politics.

Actually I disagree very minutely. See, some churches want to marry homosexuals but cannot because of laws placed against such actions. That's why we need to legalize gay marriage, so those churches who want to marry homosexuals can.
I... I don't think that's true. First Amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Those laws would never have made it through the legislative process. Or if they did, the courts would instantly strike them down. That's a direct violation of the First Amendment. Hence why I said gay "marriage" shouldn't be legal OR illegal.
Ummmm.....that's why the case if eventually going to go to the Supreme Court. We have laws in Arkansas stating that homosexuals can't get married nor can they (or single people) adopt a child. That law means that even if a church would love to marry two women together, they couldn't. It's against our state law. Getting the case to the Supreme Court takes time though. P.S. If you think the courts would instantly strike them down you are sincerely forgetting the Bible belt and how delusional Christians can manipulate words to make it sound like it has nothing to do with religion. Think of Creationism's warp to Intelligent Design.

to clarify.

a "fag" to me means blah blah blah
I understand your point, but doesn't this arguement go scarily close to the same one that goes "I'm cool with black people, just not niggers, here's what that word actually means....."?

As a bisexual, I have absolutely no problem with gay people at all. I fucking love them.

edit: since we're getting into the marriage debate, let me say this:

A MARRIAGE IS NOT RELIGIOUS. A WEDDING IS.

A marriage is a union between two people that doesn't necessarily have any ceremony attached to it. It grants legal benefits to do with taxes and the like. It's to do with the state, not religion. People who aren't Christian can be married, including atheists.

A wedding is a religious ceremony that is performed in a place of worship.

Now, I'm all for gay weddings, as well as marriages, but it's an entirely different issue.

depends on the focus, focused at me then no, i don't care if people are gay or not, if it's more of a general 'do people care' then yes, there are a lot of people that care about other people sexuality but not necessarily for good reasons.

I know I don't...why should I? What I say isn't going to change their minds...and if someone is gay, fair do's, nothing wrong with it aside from natural crimes, but what can nature do? XD

As long as they stay way way the hell away from me then I can tolerate them.
Basically as long as I don't have to work with or be anywhere near them then I am okay with them.
Well except the whiney ones always trying to force people to accept them and constantly going on about their "rights"
I hate those ones on general principle.

Ah, I was unaware of that. Yes, it will eventually make it to the Supreme Court, and it will get struck down, but yes, I realize it takes time. But as soon as it makes it to the federal court level, they'll start saying it's unconstitutional, and then it will get appealed by the Arkansas government until it reaches the Supreme Court, at which point they will either say "You're idiots, that's directly violating the First Amendment" or I'm officially quitting America.

I have a friend who is bi and one of her friends kept saying "you don't fancy me do you?"

I mean seriously, why is it that just because she's revealed her sexuality, she was suddenly going to fancy everyone in the world who is female? (Mind you, this other girl is a bit of a pillock in the first place, so maybe that's a moot point...)

I don't care though. Why would I, she's been my best friend since I was 13, and I really don't care if other people are gay either. Doesn't affect me in any way so meh. We're all just people in the end.
