Depends on the subject at hand.
If you ask the question "What is 2+2" then the one perfect answer to that is 4.
If there is any kind of opinion involved then perfection doesn't really exist (though one could definitely make the point that something could be perfect for one person but not for another. In that case it all depends on your definition of perfection.)
Nah...since in reality, no two things are 100% percent identical. ;)
So it might be 4.0000000000000000000000000001

OT: No, not in my opinion anyway.
That doesn't mean we should stop striving for perfection though, since when we do, we'll stop advancing as a species.
It is the constant chase after perfection that keeps us moving forward.

I took a test.
It had ten questions.
I answered all of them correctly.
I finished with a perfect score.

If you try to apply "perfect" to something else that's more complicated like people, then it gets a little more hazy.

Of course, in the world of mathematics. And probably science, too, now that I think about it. Something can be perfectly symmetrical, for example.

Perfection is all bsed on perception, so yeah I'd say you can find perfection.
Just don't be upset when other people think you're crazy when you say so.

Perfection exists in that it is an unreachable, unattainable ideal.
To exist as perfect would suggest nothing can go beyond, and the lack of moving forward would be stagnation, and stagnation is not a positive thing to be.

Except of course, if you are looking into it from a scientific or mathematical perspective. Then yeah it exists, though I assume you mean as a more philosophical reasoning?

No. Perfection cannot exist. Everyone has their own idea of perfection, which is constantly changing in light of new experience and maturing taste. But by definition perfection can never change and there can only be one perfection. Perfection as humans think of it cannot exist. If perfection did exist we humans would have no idea of knowing it was perfect.

Thread over, we can all go home.
Did the equivalent of a /thread on your own post. Perfection wouldn't have needed that knowing that the precision with which the perfect being posted would leave others without the ability to add to the topic. Perfection wouldn't have needed to add extraneous text.

I have reached the conclusion that you sir are a fibber. A dirty, dirty, pants on fire, fibber.

Good day sir.

Wow, exciting thread here. Perfection can only exist in the eye of the beholder, yes I just modified a cliché for my explanation. People are different and they experience and perceive things differently, perfect for one person is atrocious to another.

I believe perfection does not exist.

Now I'm talking about our world. Not any kind of "world beyond" of whatever religion you point at. Because for me "perfection" means a state of absolute flawlessness, and while I do admit that is a nice goal, once achieved it wouldn't be so great. Why? For if something is flawless, there is no room for improvement and if something doesn't of CAN'T improve, it stagnates. And I think we can agree that stagnation is not really the best state of being. Still waters tend to stink, right?

If there ever should be a state of being "perfect" in my opinion, it would have to be subject to change yet one that does not hamper or enhance the state of being, yet makes it feel different. Sounds weird, I know. However, if something is to be "perfect" it has to be flawless, therefore there is no space for enhancement, yet for it to stay "perfect" it need to change some of it's elements without affecting it's flawlessness. And that is quite hard to even imagine, even more to realize.

But that's just my view of the subject. One of my friends consider "perfection" a state of being aware of oneself, at peace of a sort. It's really hard for me to explain 'cause we haven't talked about it much. The point is - when he says: "I'm perfect", it doesn't sound of arrogance. He is well aware of his imperfections, small and big ones.

Why I'm saying this is that his view is just as valid as mine or anyones else for that matter.

And to confuse you guys even more, I'll add that I consider "perfection" to be something outside of human range of understanding, therefore every definition of perfection is inherently flawed, for we can not define what we don't know. That's why we can claim God is perfect - we define the undefinable with another undefined and possibly also undefinable.

Edit: well now, from when I started to write this till when I finished some of my ideas got mentioned. I hope you still find this interesting :)

i want to know your thought on the qeustion: does perfection exist and why.

my idea is that it doesn't exist because ppl them self aren't perfect and for that reason can make it.
For the same reason that we can't truely understand how how brain works, since it'll create a paradox.

I think here, we have a perfect example of somebody who is jealous of perfection.
But then again, how could you not be?

Not necessarily. If you have an object that consists of several elements that can each be objectively evaluated, that object can be objectively perfect, but people can have different opinions about the relative worth/value/merit of imperfect instances because they can assign different priorities to the sub elements.

Take a school report card for instance. Some people will think language is more important than math, and vice versa, so they will have different opinions on what report cards are better than others. However, the perfect report card does exist. It's the one where all grades are the highest possible.
That's a very interesting example.
It's true that there are different opinions on what report cards are better than others, but seeing as there are no opinions on the perfect report card I'm going to stick to my original definition.

Perfection? Sure, somewhere... Not here, though. If humans were perfect, they'd just stop.

Mathematically, yes. A few other examples. I can get a perfect score in a test or university exam. Well, I can't get a perfect score in an exam, but some people can. For more subjective matters, the existence of a perfect example is subjective. That's just how it goes. A perfect woman/man, game, song, movie etc. is totally subjective.

Perfection is little more than an illusion. I ask the viewers here that if they can provide me with a legitimate, non-fabricated description of perfection, I'll run full speed into a brick wall with a hat made of Styrofoam.

Okay I actually won't. But my point remains. Perfection has been warped so many times that it has no true definition. I asked around once about what many people thought perfection was.

The ending result was this. A human being who is nothing but good, having zero faults to them whatsoever.

Now this is just personal opinion, but for a human to be faultless is impossible. That's just how we are.
