I am going to do what most parents do I think, and tell my kids that he's real until they reach an age that seems appropriate to tell them the truth. I think it's a fun experience and I don't see anything harmful about telling your children Santa is real. I certainly wasn't scarred by my experience.

When I have kids, I'll tell him there's a Santa clause. I used to love the joy of watching the Christmas specials, and not being able to stand the wait of Christmas Eve.

I'd let the kid find out for him/herself. When they're old enough they won't really care.

The Day I tell my kids Santa is real is the day I tell them Hitler was good man and Hoover and Carter were the best US presidents. All of them lies so none are worse than the others (although the last to could be more of an opinion I could prove it historically, I mean disprove them because they are lies).

Seriously. It's because I was born in December.

Oh, and I don't celebrate Christmas as I am an Atheist.

It's all connected you see, because when I found out Santa Claus was a mass delusion I inferred that the whole Jesus/God thing was also.
