No, not weird. I have a flatmate who refuses to eat them unless he can open them with a knife and another flatmate who mashes them to pieces trying to open them so she rarely has them.

Myself? Not a fan. More of an apple/orange man.

I don't find it weird when people eat a banana from bottom-top, but I do find it weird how people can't figure out how to open a from top-bottom or find it hard to do. I mean it is a friggin banana! What is so hard about it? It isn't like trying to open an iron box someone welded shut or worse those hard plastic clam shell like covers that seem to be damn near impenetrable.
