that really pisses me off in halo you have to get shot a good amount to die where in CoD you get shot about 3 to 4 times your dead.and in cod when you punch anybody from anywhere your dead, in halo that only happens when you get hit in the back.and last but not least that people that start out have crappy weapons and damn level 70s have a damn AK-47.

so its pretty true that halo takes more skill than CoD

I have never heard anyone say that Call of Duty takes more or less "skill" than Halo to play. I've heard that they're both quite accessible.

That was diplomatic, right?

And that proves... absolutely nothing.
In CoD, you kill more easily and you are also easily to kill.

Also, Halo has some pretty unbalanced stuff, too. They both do - I'd say they're pretty even.

"How can they say that this game is harder than that game without any proof? Obviously this game is harder than that game, and I don't need proof for that to be true"

To a certain extent halo does require more skill.
In cod you can gain xp and rank up even if you lose a match, all you have to do is play lots of matches (weather you win or lose) and get the best weapons and beat everyone.

In Halo 3 you only gain xp or rank up if you win. Also you do not unlock weapons, you just have to be good with what ever your given. Its a shame though since the Battle Rifle is so over powered its all anyone uses.

They both take alot of skill, but Halo takes just that little bit more.

I defiantly think Halo requires more skill. In Cod you just run around until you bump into someone and hope you pulled the trigger first. I think Halo you care more about getting into better positions to kill people and picking up the better weapons.

Trade offs are exactly that - trade offs. If CoD is easier to die in, but it's easier to kill everyone else, it maintains its difficulty in comparison with anything else.

That said, I refuse to play either.

i suck at halo and am good at cod, thus giving me the impression that it takes more skill for halo. that's the big problem, it all depends on what you like and how each game plays, not how well balanced the weapons or maps are.

I hate it too, mainly because I think the whole concept of 'skill' in first person games is ridiculous..
This.

It's like an RPG, except the only action is "Use gun on man" =3

The tactics for Halo and CoD are so different it's difficult to say which requires more skill.

In CoD you have to be more careful and stay closer to cover. Rushing and ignoring cover is a good way to die immediatly because it takes much less to kill you than in Halo. CoD is ment to be more realistic. Being good at this game is really just knowing where the enemy is and getting to him before he gets to you. You have to be faster and know more about your surroundings than he does. You have to play smart to stay alive.

In Halo you can move around more freely and not worry about getting killed from across the map as much. Fights last longer because people have more health. If someone is shot from far away he usually has enough time to run around a corner and let his shields recharge. If a good player is shot first he can sometimes turn it around and kill the enemy player.

They just require different skill. If someone had only one style of playing an FPS they would probably be good at one of these games and bad at the other.

I think it's really a matter of opinion. I don't like both games, so I can't really give my own. If someone said "Press Space to win" was harder than say, IWBTG, then I'd disagree of course, but I wouldn't hate it. Of course how they'd find it harder is beyond me but still...

I've always found that in Halo the bigger gun always wins. Whereas in COD you stand a decent chance whether you've got an assault rifle or a pistol. However my experience with Halo is much less than with COD.

its annoying when people whine about how halo takes more skill then cod , it would be much easier to arrange a community playdate and everyone can have fun if their new or old at the game
also i used to get people 50s and do free prestiges on cod , their both balanced but play them for fun , not to complain about the other game

Both require equal teamwork and skill, but Halo has one added bit of depth, resource management, saving that vehicle, power weapon, or over shield for just the right moment. Now while Cod has killstreaks, which can be used to great effect, Halo still has an emphasis on these tools, because a Banshee can change a game, an AC 130 can't.

I disagree about the AC-130. When someone gets one of those or a chopper gunner, I try to take it out right away. People can really get points if you don't take them down fast. They also already have an 11 kill streak at that point. Its not hard to get 10 kills with those and that gets them pretty close to a Nuke.
