Doom as it is a much more consistent series.

And by modern FPS standards, Doom 3 is a phenomenal game.

Doom fo' sho'. The marine just got the job done and done in style, without having to masturbate into every mirror he passed.

You gloat over the carcass of the guardian.
With its death you have wrested the accelerator from the stinking claws of hell.
You are done. Hell has returned to pounding dead folks instead of good live ones.
Remember to tell your grandkids to put a rocket launcher in your coffin. If you go to hell when you die you will need it for some cleaning up.

DOOM! I played Doom until my eyes bled (figuratively) when I was a kid, to the point that my only 4 year older brother locked me out of the computer for a week because he was worried about me. We had the Aliens version too, it was awesome.

Having replayed doom 1, 2 and duke 3d on live arcade...

Doom hands down. The pacing and frenetic action are spot on, and the graphics look as good as they need to be.

Duke arguably has more imagination, and some neat ideas, but the humour really hasn't aged well, with some of it actively making me cringe nowadays (though some of its treatment of women did make me uncomfortable even back then, before I really grokked to my gender identity issues)

Doom is a key cultural work of art. Duke Nukem 3D is a great game with courtesy of Tom Hall one of the best senses of humor in a video game.

Duke Nukem 3D is a parody of Doom and games like it, as well as a parody of 1980s action movies, which along with heavy metal inspired Doom.

For the classic versions, I prefer Doom over Duke, Duke 3D had some really silly maps that were hard to navigate while Doom had mostly straight forward shootouts, except for Perfect Hatred. Plus Doom has mods that make it about the same graphically as Duke 3D.

As for modern, Duke Forever beats the hell out of Doom 3. 2/4 Weapon slots and regenerating health make it a lot closer than it should be but DNF has better handling and more variety in the enemies and environments than Doom 3.

If Duke Forever 2 and Doom 4 came out at the same time, it would be an interesting comparison to have.

Duke Nukem. It?s just the more fun shooter of the options we were given in this thread. Doom there just isn?t a lot to do the environments aren?t that interesting and neither are the enemy designs.

Duke, you can jet pack all over the place while having shoot outs with Aliens and Pig Cops throw a pipe bomb on them all. The game play is just more fun and there are various ways of going about combating your enemies and overall It was just a much more exciting game. Doom all I am doing is running and gunning sluggish enemies and it?s just kind of boring. Out of all of them I would say without nostalgia goggles Duke has held up the best.
(I say no nostalgia because there is nothing for me to be nostalgic about. I never really played these that games extensively until this year)

Now if we were talking about Duke vs Doom 64, well that?s a bit tougher.

Duke. There is no other option.
Doom, while a phenomenal game in its own right did not age as well as Duke.
It's simply the more varied, the more interesting and simply the most fun.
Some of the levels contained within it are among the best ever designed(Hotel Hell and Hollywood Holocaust spring to mind) and the music was some of the best that Lee Jackson had ever produced(Stalker being a true classic).
And its also far more influential in design than Doom ever was. Above it you only have titans such as System Shock 1, Deus Ex and others.
Anyone saying otherwise is just bandwagonning on supposed "old school cred".

What's the point of making secret plans if you tell everyone about them! xD

We may as well just broadcast all the Injustice League meetings as well XD

OT: I much prefer Doom, but to be honest I've never really played much of either.

Of what I have played Doom just felt... better. Not very helpful I know, but whatever XD
I posted the methodology and a goal, I did not post the entirety of the plan. Those documents are safely concealed.

You only dislike the Duke because you lack the Balls of Steel to deal with his awesomeness.

I bet his manliness makes your already tiny manbits shrivel up and die without reproducing like the Pinta Island Tortoise.
Doomguy may have fought his way into and out of hell but the Duke did the same while also saving all the Babes, and all he had was a boot and an empty pack of gum.

The quiet and sad cries of your receding genitalia in the face of such a sexy, manly, testosterone infused Adonis only amuses the Duke.

So yeah, I think my vote is obvious.
Its Doom all day everyday.
Nah. If I turned around too fast near Duke I'd knock his fucking head off with my dick and you know it.

And yes. Doom is superior.

I actually just think Duke 3D has aged poorly, it's really not very fun to play now compared to Doom.
Your double ended black dildo doesn't count as a dick and you know it.

I agree. I still have lots of fun with Duke 3D but I grew up on Doom and it just seems to have more lasting appeal to me.
Indeed I must agree. Nothing against Duke 3D, both are great games, I just love me some Doom.

Surely the age old war was over if people were Quakers or Dukers? In which case I was a Quaker, nail gun to your antiquated sprite arse. :p

Voted Doom because ID. Couldn't really being myself to vote for Gearbox even if I wanted to. :-\
Never played Quake back in the day, I played Doom on my dads PC when I was a very small child, I was like 2 when these things were big in the mainstream.

I dislike Gearbox intently but thats nothing to do with classic Duke.

I had a lot more fun playing Rise of the Triad than either Duke or Doom. But between the two, Doom was the more enjoyable game because it had better pacing and more originality.

Duke 3D is my favourite FPS from the 90s. IMO it's amazing.
The weapon variety was great and the level design was fantastic.

To the point, I feel nothing but Fremdschämen for this whole "Injustice League" thing. You guys can do what you want, but I don't have to like it. I thought we'd have learned our lesson on cliques and sub-groups here from PRIATE and Asylum Open Mic, but apparently we haven't.

Borderlands since I've not played Duke or Doom.
Also I'd probably like Borderlands more anyway.

I have nothing but good memories of the Doom series, because I only played 1 and 2. I never saw the point to having a Doom 3, since the Quake series was essentially the successor to Doom...

But I've always felt that back in the DOS era, 2D platformers just worked better than FPSes. The technology just wasn't there until about 1996. So Duke all the way in this contest. Also, Duke 3D was pretty well on-par with Quake... with added humor (juvenile can still be funny if you don't have a stick up your ass).
