Yes I buy it, but only if it adds longevity to the game, like Fallout 3. I've only downloaded Operation Anchorage and Broken Steel for it so far, but I liked them and thought that is was worth it. But I don't download pointless DLC, like extra costumes in games like Street Fighter 4. No way would I pay just to get a reskinned character.

I Pirate DLC if there not that good stuff or should have been in the game anyway .

Joking aside, if it was not worth it, then why take it? Because you can? If I think a coke is not worth paying $2 for, that doesn't mean I'm entitled to steal it from a gas station.

Whether or not I feel a bit of DLC is worthing paying for, I do understand that someone worked hard (potentially) on that content. Stealing the fruits of someone's labor is immoral regardless of medium.

I do buy DLC as long as it is a substantial gameplay addition or (shamefully) if it has additional achievements tied to it. I'm a little bit OCD in that sense and games companies probably know that a large majority of gamers are obssessive with completion of the games, thus take full advantage. (As seen by the recent hike in maximum retail gamerscore and the percentage of games with DLC achievements increasing).

N+ level packs, Banjo Kazooie LOG challenges ETC are all very welcome additions to a game as they allow me to enjoy something for longer. Soul Calibur IV costume packs for example are not.

What really annoys me is circumstances like Castle Crashers, where all the content is there you're just paying for the "door" to be opened to it. I still bought it I admit which will only encourage repeat performances in the future, but at least it abides by my rule of significant gameplay addition.

To raise a different point I think DLC like Tales of Vesperia is pushing it a little too far. 6000 MSP (roughly) to basically not play the game. Things like Gold, Levels and items can all be downloaded to "save" time earning it in game. I realise Tales wasn't the first, Burnout and Skate also spring to mind, but they do it so whole heartedly it's hard not to notice.

What really concerns me is the overall popularity of downloading is, and whether the future of a gaming may be slowly approaching a digital only marketplace. With game rentals behaving like movie rentals already in operation.

Depends on the DLC and the feedback it has after a week of it's release.

If it's positive then i'll think about it
If it's negative then...No... Or..you know.."that"

OK, in my honest opinion, there shouldn't be DLC. I think it's redundant. When you make a game you're supposed to make it with all the fixens, not fucking make one and then go " Well damn, we forgot this or this would have been cool to add. Let's make the poor bastard who bought the game for like 60 buck to 90 ( usually 90 is the limited edition ) pay for something we could have just as easily fucking put in there to begin with! "

Right, not going to happen. I'll admit that I've gotten DLC before but only because my friend has money to spend and I was bloody bored. So no I'm not a hypocrite for buying it, since technically I didn't, so don't go there.

But seriously, why make someone who's already paid for the game spend more money to make the game funner? That's just dickish.

If I had interest in Fallout 3 I would definatley buy extra DLC chapters for a few years more gameplay. Apart from that I only buy downloadbale games. I don't see interest in map packs, extra costumes and all that jazz unless its free. (nudge nudge Halo 3 legendary...)

So in short, more length and gameplay yes, other wise no.

Yes, I buy DLC, but only if they actually add some valuable extra game content, like new maps for Killzone 2 or combo pack for Crash Commando.
But I never buy things like extra costumes and audio tracks (Soul Calibur 4).
