I don't download music, legally or illegally. I need to have a actual album in its case. Same thing with videos, although I am willing to watch TV shows online, I don't pirate anything. If anything is good enough that I want it, I'm willing to part with a small sum of money to own it, unless it's DRM-locked, in which case I'll find a way to get it without DRM (one of the main reasons I buy physical CDs)

I care less about downloading, and more about the RIAA Gestapo-like crackdown on the wrong fucking people. They come down on grandpa's, mothers, and college students. Yes, downloading is illegal, yes you should not be doing it, but fuck off RIAA! Go after the distributors, not the downloaders. Everytime you sue 1 downloader, a thousand more take their place.

Of course, they never, ever will be able to stop, or stem the tide of piracy. Just like real-life piracy is around today, so it will be on the internet. The technology real-life pirates use has changed from swords to RPG's, so will the technology used to spread pirated materials. That's just fact.

I'm a big fan of the idea of a post-scarcity society, so I'm dead against copyrights. That said, I rarely download anything, just because I cant be bothered, and I like to have the case on my shelf.
