I have to say that overall, I hated the game in comparision to Dragon Age Origins. Even in comparison to other Bioware titles. I felt it was a sub-par effort and was not worth my $100 AUS.

This is overall, there were some good improvements but too much holding it back.

Feel free to add comments, but the poll should be interesting

Edit: I added No Comment for those people who were neither big fans or big haters of the game. If you felt dissappointed then use the 3rd option. I just wanted to get an overview of the overall opinions in a nice quick format.

It's okay I guess. I had hoped it would be better, but I didn't get my hopes up when I heard how different the game would be. I'm glad it's gotten so much hate though, that'll teach game developers to fuck over the fans for the sake of "more appeal to casual gamers".

its pretty good, combat is fun, tho not as tactical as the first one, I plan on going tho it again but I can certainly see why its getting hate

I'm one of the people who genuinely doesn't care. Bioware hasn't made anything that genuinely interested me in years, so I don't buy anything they make. Fair exchange.

Personally I loved it, and am still loving it. Course I'm not really comparing it to the original since it feels like such a completely different game. Loved the first one, probably more, but still, love this installment and am extremely happy with it.

If I had one complaint, it's how frustrating melee can be, and usually is. In the first game my favorite was the dual-wield rogue, followed by the shield warrior. So naturally rogue was the first class I tried in the sequel, but quickly gave it up for a healing mage. Course now that it's been beaten, playing the other classes isn't quite so hard. Just frustrating.

Other than that, haven't personally fealt cheated and have appreciated a lot of the differences between the two titles.

Where is the "meh" or "disappointed" options. I don't hate it, but I'm by no means that much of a "fan" of it.

Personally: I really loved Dragon Age: Origin, alot. And I had high hopes for Dragon Age 2 and I was willing to pay my $100 Aussie bucks for the game. When I got home and played it however I felt ripped off and angry that they would use the name Dragon Age to sell me this watered down game.

Wow... talk about a biased poll. Your either a fan or a hater. Balanced poll ftw! ;P

Where the hell is the moderate position? I enjoyed the game but REALLY disliked the plot, lack of meaningful choices, and recycled areas. Why isn't there an option for being not a fan but don't think it's "THAR WOZ GAME EVR!"

I've been waiting for a thread about Dragon Age 2, finally someone wants to talk about it!

Thanks for this unique thread! Your intense analysis of the game is a real eye opener.

To answer your question: I am not a hater of it.
No need to be a smartass, I've seen tons of threads about Dragon Age 2, I just wanted to see how many people actually liked it vs hated it. It seemed to have sparked alot of debate but I didn't see a poll.

I really don't know.

The game was okay. I don't love it or hate it. I think it's a worrying level of product for Bioware though they normally make much better games.

Use the no comment option for those in the middle ground. There were some good improvements but there were also some crap thrown in too.

I didn't want to use a 5 point sliding scale. 1: Hated it, 2: Disliked it, 3: no comment, 4: Liked it, 5: Fan.

I mean I could have done that but DA2 seemed more of a love it or hate it game.

I'm a fan. It has some obvious problems that can't be ignored (rehashed maps), but it also improves upon Origins in some fantastic ways (the new ability trees).

I, sir, am a hater!

I think. I haven't really played the game.

But the first was so bland and generic that it turned me off of the series. I am dreading when I go to Platinum it.

Neither, but based on what I've heard about the game I won't pick it up until it's around 10£.
Didn't care much for the first game either to be honest. I expected a 100+ hour game but got just a bit over 20. Sure, everybody plays differently, but I have a hard time seeing myself getting over 80 hours more out of it with one playthrough.
Same goes for Mass Effect, yet it did keep me intrested with the combat.

Hater is a little strong, but Bioware really let me down with DAII, it's a very lazy production. I think EA might have pressured them to release a game right away though so hopefully that's the explanation and it wont happen again.

Mostly a fan, but with some reservations.

The copy-pasted maps were silly. The lack of overarching plot was a bit stupid.

Other then that I enjoyed it. The combat was fun and I loved some of the characters.
