Anora! It wasn't even a hard decision. Alustar is a whiny baby who expressed his lack of desire to be king right up to the very end. How good a job is someone going to do if they don't WANT to do it in the first place? He's a crybaby and I don't understand why all the other girls swoon over him. I'll stick with my shmexy Zevran, thank you very much.

Alistair... Anora betrayed my deal and tried to have me killed... I don't laugh that off, and I don;t go against my best interest... She's all about keeping her own position, no matter what happens to the country or the people around her, she may have been more qualified, but you can't exactly trust her, especially after I killed her dad, for being a xenophobic prick... he may have been a respected leader at one point, but I don;t want to put up with that shit... especially after he helped doom the country...<.<

Where's the "depends" option for those of us with like 20 different playthroughs?
This.

Although, none of my characters have ever been the ruler. I always either play an Elf or a Mage (although never an Elven Mage) so... yeah.

My first playthrough of that part resulted in my favorite scene in DA history. After Alistar defeated Loghain in single combat I told Alistar to execute him. Cue a hard cut to Anora getting the blood of her father splashed across her face and crying out in horror. I turn to her an ask, "So you and Alistar are still getting married, right?"

LOLOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOL

I convinced Alistar to simply lock her away as a political prisoner after that.

My God, that was the best payoff for Lohgain/Anora's arc I could ever ask for XD
I need a new face after breaking it by laughing so damn hard at this. I might have to play through the game again just to see that.
Ditto, though that also means I need to actually use Allistar and make him competent.

I picked Allistair and Anora. Anora had a little too much ambition for me to trust her, but Allistair didn't have much ability. Seemed like a good choice. Also gives the Wardens a sympathetic king to help them regain lost strength and makes damn sure that whoever rules will let the wardens do what they need to do in the final battle. Allistair also continues the noble line, hes really the best choice, even better if Anora is willing to help him

Aww, ya gotta do it at least once! The gasp of shock from the crowd is absolutely priceless. It's especially fun for female Wardens, because Anora gets pissed if you were stringing her along. And a non-hardened Alistair acts all bashful about it, while a hardened Alistair's all "fuck yeah!" God, I love the Landsmeet.

my one time fully through the game, I had ambitions to be the queen of ferelden. You can only be the queen if alistair is king, so I let alistair be king.

I've had every ending at least once but my first and probably most popular/ common was Anora by herself.

I chose every option in that game across about 9 different playthroughs. However the ones I choose to upload in my dragon age 2 games is Alistair/Alistair and the warden depending on whether I was playing a male or female version of Hawke.

Alistair. Anora just rubbed me the wrong way.

Also, if there's anything I've learnt from living in my country, is "always do your best to keep political power away from sociopaths".
Anora was'nt a sociopath, she was cut throat in regards to anything that is a threat to her politically and is willing to stab anyone in the back just to stay in power.
She showed absolutely no remorse for her actions (never even bothered to spin the "it's for the greater good" speech), or displayed empathy for anyone but her father (it's unclear what, exactly, she felt for Cailan), and in one of the endings, she's willing to brutalise elves just because it's convenient (not to mention that she gives zero fucks about her father's deals with the slavers). She betrays everyone at the slightest opportunity, and apparently feels absolutely nothing about the things she does. She doesn't even bother rationalising most of what she does (she only does it when she's pressured into explaining herself), she just plain old feels absolutely nothing.

She's a remorseless, cold-blooded sociopath.

First playthrough; Anora. Talked Alistair into staying a Grey Warden with my GW >_>

If I cant marry Alistair, In most other playthroughs I make Alistair and Anora marry, while my GW becomes Alistair's mistress.

I really like Alistair, Okay? Though;

One time, I spared Loghain(Hardest thing i've ever done, I had to turn the sound of so I couldn't hear Alistair shout at me u_u) but still made him marry Anora. Wasnt so happy'bout that either.

Now I feel ashamed about just exiling her or something... Been too long I don't remember have to actually replay it, I have since then got the ultimate edition and still haven't played awakening in fact. Anyway Alistair all the way, didn't really care about the queen. You don't need to be groomed all your life to be a good king or tactician, otherwise King Cailan would be alive and Queen Elizabeth would have sucked(she was a last resort on the heritage list.).

Always Alistair.

I like the guy. And I don't care if he does a shit job at ruling, my repsonsibility (as well as the game) ends with killing the Arch Demon.

I've done all of them. Alistair was the best though, especially when you convince him to be tougher. He becomes a really good king, gaining the strength and decisiveness of a king while keeping his natural charm which helps him get on with other kingdoms. I locked Anora in the keep, something about her rubs me the wrong way.

Why would you do that?
It makes the two best options unavailable!
Elves are assholes, and humans are dull.

Alistair and Anora, Alistair because he was the rightful king and a nice guy. Anora is a skilled politician and suited to rule but under their old laws and prejudices would have a struggle by herself.

They would both temper each other hopefully, love and attraction doesn't matter when it comes to monarchies and arranged marriages. They would both have to suck it up and make the most of it, hopefully enough to produce an heir and some spares. After that coup and the Darkspawn the realm needs as much stability as possible.

Elves are assholes? not the humans? How are the elves assholes? Also Dwarves are boring(Dalish Origin 10x better than any of the Dwarves).

I would have Alistair rule or, if I was playing a female human noble, I would marry Alistair and be queen. Those were actually the only 2 playthroughs I have finished... I have very severe altoholism(make to many alts).
