I got it for PS3 and I don't see what it's all the hype is about. Not yet, anyways. Granted, I'm not very far into it so that could be it. xD

If it's already in your house, then try it. Now, if you had to buy it or something, I could understand asking. But you already have it and it won't cost anything for you to try it yourself. Just give it a shot then.

Now I know there are ALOT of threads about this game. (Trust me, I searched.)

But none answered the question of "Would I, myself would like this?" My brother got it for christmas for Xbox 360 (and not PC.) And I'm puzzled if I should play it.

Now the games that are similar I think, that I've played are;
TES IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3. (Yes Fallout 3 is, in terms of the RP elements, it's similar except the whole "Apocalyspe" thing.)

But recently I played Risen and didn't like it. One. Bit. So will you intelligent people answer this question?
I haven't played Risen, but I have played the earlier Gothic games, and they do suck quite a large amount ass.

Dragon Age (The PC version, mind you) is easily the GOTY for me. Game of the last several years, in fact. If you can play it, especially if you can play it for free, you should definitely try it.

Now i haven't played Risen but it looks like a completely different type of RPG, gameplay wise. But, i have Dragon Age and even though i would rather have the PC version (my PC is shit) it's still an amazing game on the 360.

Why not? I mean you have access to the game, give it a try. A few things to note, you will probably have more Fun playing a melee class, I found the ranged classes to unbalanced when starting.

A few things to note:

1. If you play on the 360, it wont look as good.

2. If you play on the PC it won't be as stable.

I played on the PC and despite some design flaws, it easily was my game of the year.

To sum up. Yay, but It's not for everyone. But if it is for you, you'll love it!

The game is nothing like either of those. And is absolutely nothing like risen. It is so different than risen that (insert some hyperbole here)

Spoil yourself and go out and buy it. NAO

"...Risen has taken out a restraining order, because it has no place being compared to Dragon Age."

Adequate?

Yay. The battle system might take some time to get used to. For me it took, for not playing games with similar system.

it is, quite simply, one of the best games I've ever played. I don't really think there is ANYONE that shouldn't play it. Even if you don't like rpgs and don't want to strategize, throw the game on its easiest setting and nuke your way through, i'm sure you will still enjoy it.

It's a very good game, but I play on PC. It's like Neverwinter Nights/Baldurs gate and The Witcher combined.

Get it on PC if you get it, DLC reallly increases the joy after you beat it ;).
Not to mention Xbox's difficulty on Nightmare is PC's normal it seems. But yes, the game is amazing, I mean look at the escapist's top 5 games of the year :)!
