Okay so the fact that Skyrim will have dragons has intrigued me ever since I saw the trailer, we know a lot about them now.
Things like, when in a battle with them just under all of the anarchy and chaotic noise you will hear them talking very faintly in their language. And I absolutely love that idea, as stated in one of Todd Howard's videos, a fight against one of the dragons is "much like an argument".
It's a cool concept, that beneath all of the bloodshed and violence there is a deeper meaning to the actual conflict. And more depth to a game is never a bad thing.
It's also been stated that their is no limited amount of dragons, their will be some "boos" type one's I presume. Todd has also mentioned that the dragons can sense the dragonborn (player) in a way. They will attempt to track you down and hunt you.
Which leads me to a scenario in my head where you'll be travelling through the forest when all of a sudden you look up at a small clearing in the tree tops just to get a glimpse of what seemed to be a dragon flying past. You immediately stop in your tracks and try to remain quite.
It's silent... then, you hear a echoing thump in the surrounding area. Much like a dragon swooping down and landing. You then immediately turn and run back towards a village you saw near the forest earlier, as your running you hear loud footsteps behind you getting louder and louder. Then nothing... like the dragon had taken flight once more, maybe it has decided to leave you alone?
Then... BAM! it lands back down straight in front of you. You stand their frozen. Then you hear a soft whisper, you can't quite make out what it said, before you can finish contemplating the noise the dragon lunges forward and the fight begins...
But maybe I'm just thinking to much into it, it's just that if Bethesda does this right it could be so very imemrsive and spontaneous. I really hope it meets my expectations, however I doubt it will since my expectations are far too high as you can probably see.
Do you guys have any thoughts on the matter? Dragons that is... Do you like the idea? yes, no? why, why not, etc etc...
I'd like to hear all your opinions.
