I'm sure this has been done before but still...

Have you been affected in some way by drunk driving? How?

Last year my best friend was killed by his friend who claimed to be only "buzzed"...
It was the last day of school...
He just graduated...

The driver walked away, unharmed...

The driver always does. I was almost t-boned the other day. That guy may have been drunk. Actually, I have almost been hit a lot. One of them was probably drunk.

Nope I have my permit and I don't plan on fucking it up. I have also not suffered from an accident that was due to drunk driving.

Not directly, but my wife lost one of her closest friends to a drunk driver while they were in high school. The trauma of it still surfaces even today from time to time.

Nope. Personally I can't drive yet (failed my test >.>) and I don't have a car anyway. And a lot of people I know don't drive or don't drink. *shrug*

No, I've never encountered a drunk driver, though I'd be willing to bet I will someday, not that I'm looking foreward to it.

No, despite having regularly been the drunk driver on past occasions. Barely do it nowadays. I've never been in a car accident, or caused one, but yes it's still wrong etc etc.

My mother got the front of her car smashed in in Canada by a Drunk English Canadian.

As for me personally. Well, I almost got my front end smashed in when a drunk driver cut me off at an intersection.

Then walking, I did get clipped by a mirror once by a drunk driver. Broke my arm and tore the mirror off his car. The dick.

But I think the worst was I got hit once by a FEMALE drunk driver (cause they're not all men). It wasnt going fast but she hit me and rolled up and was on her windshield. I turned sidewise when I saw to get out of the way (I was walking the right way, against traffic, and wearing some of those neon yellow kinda strips of tape on my jacket) so I only had two broken ribs. She called me an ambulance and drove off to leave me in pain, so I dont know, I guess I should be glad she at least called the ambulance. I reported her for it, and her license plate, so she got charged but it wasnt too bad since i didnt want to charge her for the injuries.

I wasn't involved in the accident or anything, but I know someone who was killed in a car crash with a drunk driver. The car was also over capacity, and the guys who died had decided to ride in the boot. I think everyone was drunk.

At first I thought this thread would be about whether or not it's okay, to which the answer is obvious.
No, and I really hope I'm not ever affected by it. Losing a life to a drunk driver is needless and senseless beyond measure.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

The only drunk driving incident that has effected me was my sisters ex-fiance. He was drunk, he was driving, and he got pulled over before he harmed anyone...granted he also reached into his back seat which was near his in-truck gun-rack which had a gun in it. That just made things worse for him.

Other than that, I'd say the next closest thing would be this guy who was texting and was swirving in the highway lanes. Damn near as bad as any drunk driver he was.

Yep, one of my good friends from high school was killed in a car accident with a drunk and drugged up driver a couple years ago. Her mother was in the car at the time and was killed too. The drunk dickhead was shooting up while driving a stolen car and evading a police chase which pulled off before getting close to the town, only he didn't slow down and ended up crossing onto the other side of the road and had a head on collision with my friend's car. Fuckhead was in hospital for a few weeks or so, then got out and sat in jail for about a year until his court case came up and he got sentenced to serve around 11 years in jail.

I have been most fortunate, I have not been affected by those idiots. I also make it a policy to never be drunk, the most I have ever had was two beers at any given time and always with a meal. As a Christian, I do not like being out of control, I believe that it is a sin to be out of control (not a sin to drink, but a sin to be drunk).
