I've got a DS, and I have a camera. Why do I need to waste money on something that needlessly combines them both?

I can't believe this shit sells.

You bought one without being sure? Um....
We can't really tell you if it's good or bad you have to decide that for yourself.

Same way that Hannah Montana sells tickets. Be kid friendly and everyone will buy you.
Also it's not like they are forcing you to buy one. Some people don't have a DS yet, and it's getting harder to find GBA games in stores anyways.

I have the original DS, and there is nothing about the lite or DSi that would make me even interested in buying one.

I would assume the DS is much cheaper by now than the brand new DSi/DS lite. Anyone who would pay more money for pretty much the same product is not too bright, in my opinion.

I bought a lite when i had a DS (mainly for the pocketsize and better lit screen), but i won't be buying a DSi.. it's a gaming platform, not a freakin camera

I dislike it because back when the original DS came out, Nintendo was still catering to gamers. The original is a game system. Nintendo is casual now. They're tacking stupid stuff on to the new DS because it's now a family friendly toy for housewives and their children.

I'm perfectly happy to keep playing the huge library of good DS/GBA games, and just completely ignore the Wii and DSi.

Don't listen to these guys, they seem a tad bitter.

The DSi is a great upgrade: you get a load of new features like the two cameras, Opera browser, music player, DSiWare.etc.etc and an updated look and feel which is one of the best improvements imo because the new clicky controls are superior to the DS' and DS Lite's.

Another overlooked thing is the potential that the DSi brings. We will see more and more games released on DSiWare, no doubt future released DS games will also have interesting DSi only capabilities, and the whole hardware of the system has been given an overhaul with a more powerful processor and more RAM it could mean we might see some DSi exclusive games.

It's not for everyone though, so if your not happy with there being no GBA slot or your happy with your DS Lite then you don't need to get it. Also gamers who still have the DS though could see this as a great opportunity to pick up a DS Lite when the price inevitably drops because of the DSi.

DS is still $120.
But people are going to see the DSi has more features and go for it. The online store intrigues me, as does the updateable firmware.

Well said my friend.

Hardly worth shelving my DS lite for. If somebody doesn't have a DS and they want a DSi, that's fine. But the pricetag's a bit steep for what they've upgraded.
Not to mention no homebrew works on it, i'd have two games of guitar hero i suddenly wouldn't be able to play and i'm really not in the market for a tiny tiny camera.
