i have a ds lite and am woundering if its worth it to go over and buy a dsi.
but i dont no if its worth to get it now or later
and most of the hype is around the camera which i most lickley wont use,
and for all the people with a dsi, is it only a camera that comes with it or has it completely changed?

If you already have a DS there is no point in getting a DSi, it really is a waste of money. I never understood some people and their almost obsession to have the latest model of something they already have. If you have no interest in the camera, and you have GBA games you still play, don't bother. Hell if you already have a DS, don't bother.

Keep your ds-lite, the dsi is just a shinier version with a camera
Hate to be annoying and "told you so", but the DSi actually has a matte finish. So technically the DS lite is shinier.....

Personally, I love Guitar Hero so I prefer the DS lite.

Wait until there's some actual DSi-exlusive software worth the purchase out.

As for the changes:

1.5x faster CPU
4x the original version's RAM
256 MB built-in storage
Larger screens
DSiWare (with Virtual Console in the future)
Better Wi-Fi functionality
SD card slot
Two-lens camera

It's only a waste of money if you already have a DS in some form or another that still works. If your old one is broken, or you don't have any version, then it's probably a solid investment. This is kind of a no-brainer.

personally, i reckon any handheld after gameboy advance is probably a waste of money, most games don't work well, the battery life is too short and theres not exactly a lot of need for one.

This.

Also, I think the DSi is a bit like the Wii - the extra features are fun for a while, but get old quickly. I'm keeping hold of my DS Lite. There may be DSi exclusive games on the way, but when? Waste of money, at least for the time being. I'd give it a chance to settle in and get some decent software before buying one.

If you ask me, going from a console that can play DS AND GBA games, then moving across to something that can play DS games and take pictures and sounds (a mobile phone can do that, and with higher quality.), this just seems like a step backwards.

Nintendo are just milking the handheld cash-cow. And what's worse is they're not being discouraged from these cheap moves because people are still devoted enough to drink.
Sooner or later, those teats are going to go black and wither and snap off in your mouth.

There are games which are still good which use the SLOT-2. Guitar Hero, Kingdom Hearts, Homebrew.
That italicised example is enough to put me off.

I actually find their commercials kind of a turn-off. These are the last people on Earth I want to be like.

Ha ha. Retort FAIL.
Again, this is something you can do on a mobile phone. I think my Sony Ericsson Walkman can do it, and it's several years old now.

Like, oh, my gods. You can drag stuff around on a picture.
Hey, Nintendo, there's a program for that already.

It's called MSPAINT.
