Does the DSi have a meaningful effect on performance on older DS games that strain the system's limits? Does it reduce loading times between screens on those rare occasions they crop up? Is it worth losing the GBA slot (useful for everything from Guitar Hero to some of the rewards for having a certain older GBA game like the ones in FFTA2 that you get for having the original Tactics Advance plugged in when you start the game?)
The DSi might be worth it if you care more about the flashy add-ons, but game play on the DSi wasn't improved upon from the DS Lite besides having a slightly larger screen. The DSi also looses the GBA slot, so it also depends on if you care about that function.
If you don't have a DS and you don't have GBA games or no interest in playing GH, wait for the price to drop then go ahead and get it.
The fact that it a) does not feature those games kinda hurts it. b) The camera quality isn't very good. c)The screen is not as bright as the Lite. d) Sucks battery faster than the DS Lite
Just so you know, I am content with my DS Fat, faulty L shoulder and uncalibratable screen and all
