As an electronic music fan, I'm actually quite proud of the current commercial and popularity-wise success of the genre. I wasn't too big of a fan to start, but after it blew up, I've been hearing more and more good mixes. Even if sometimes it does sound like two washing machines copulating. So how about you? You like it? Hate it?
Electronic music tends to be VERY hit and miss for me..when it misses..it mmisses

as for Dubstep, there is some I like however often I find it a little too heavy on the "wub wubs" (particually skrillex style stuff...mabye bro step is more of an american thing)
alot of the stuff I do like I'm rather unsure if it falls into the Dubstep catagory, after browsing beatport I've found myself liking the genre "Glitch-hop" all the beat and less of the abrasive wub (and I notice alot of stuff i liek is too obscure even for youtube)

I don't like it. The wub wub is obnoxious and, at this point, painfully predictable, and so few artists build up to the wub wub moment in the first place. Even songs that go light on the wubs annoy me.
I'm not big on most electronic music because most people seem to write music as extended beats rather than songs, but dubstep in particular is grating.

I like most electronic music, and most modern music in general. But I can't stand dubstep. It sounds horrible to me, and I'm a little distraught a couple of my favourite bands are getting into it.

Totally right, when there's two completely disconnected thoughts in a song, that's just lazy crap. My favorite though is when they take one sample and play it over and over and then after a couple minutes they put on that effect where everything gets muffled like it's underwater but it's still the same sample, and then they finish off with the same damn sample but overlaid with the same sample at a higher octave or louder percussion or something. I don't know why people are engaged by an artist who uses effects to distract from the part where he uses the same exact phrase looped for six minutes

Dubstep, I liked. Liked. But then I started listening to Drum and Bass. Although come to think of it, I was listening to DnB long before Dubstep, I just didn't know the genre by name and its specifics.

The main one for me is 3OH!3. I love their earlier stuff. Unless I completely misunderstand what dubstep is, I'm pretty sure they've used it in newer stuff. I still find it far more tolerable than most dubstep, but no where near as good as before. I think dubstep works great in things like movie trailers, but I can't stand listening to it standalone.
No, of course you don't. You mean that WUBWUBWWUBWUWBUWDASOHUDFVUFIFV shit that is just 20 year old Drum and Bass slowed down by 100% with all the creativity removed.
I have no real opinion on it, as I haven't heard enough of it to base a solid opinion from. That said, from the little I have heard, it was enough to prevent me from going any further into the genre. I'm not an electronic fan really. If I listen to any electronics, it is usually just synths/keyboards or something in a pagan black metal band, which is very distant from this kind of stuff.
