I loved it it was exactly what I expected from a Duke Nukem game with its long develpment cycile and im glad I bought the BoS edition

Gotta agree though, medikits, 9 guns on his back and pipe bombs in those shotgun belts on his chest and this would have been perfect.

From what I've heard it's a mediocre shooter that suffers from constant changes in development over the 12 years it took to come out. That's honestly what I was expecting. I played the demo and was severely underwhelmed. It felt like it combined the worst parts of modern shooters. The regenerating health and weapon limit was not only generic but also frustrating and only served to make the game less fun. Sections that weren't just straight up shooting involved terrible physcis and platforming reminiscent of Half-Life 2, only worse. Basically Duke Nukem Forever tried to be to many games and delivered an awful experience over all. O ros I've heard.
Really what I find more interesting is that apparently this game managed to be shockingly offensive. Obvioulsy Duke Nukem wasn't going to be very PC but apparently the game has some bizzare and disturbing jokes about rape and forced impregnation. Like someone took a level out of a horror game and tried to incorporate it into Duke Nukem complete with jokes about tits. That...just...baffles me. How the fuck could you think that was a good idea?

It's great, and I'm not sure what the fuck is going on with reviewers on it. What were they expecting? It's exactly what it's suppossed to be, a container for the gimmicks that made duke great. Dukes gameplay was never all that good, the game was all about the other stuff in the game.

Here's why I think the Duke has suffered.
Games honestly have higher standards now a days. If games don't try to progress and get better, gamers notice.
Duke could have kept the childish jokes, but sadly its a subpar shooter. I would have love to see the Duke work on its mechanics more.

I think it's alright. Incidentally, there's always been a large group of people waving sticks and yelling at games like this when they come out.
I think what's happening with the reviews now is pretty much what everyone expected. It's okay, just not great. Personally, I'm glad they finally released it after some fifteen years of development. Now 3D Realms can finally focus on doing something else.

I don't know...I'm a girl. I have no legal rights to enjoy it. Simple. It's sexist and immature. Of course, I don't really care. I just played cause I liked the original Duke Nukems. Hell, I'd suggest playing it. Not right away though, might as well save up for Uncharted or Bioshock, or save even more for the Wii U and PSP Vita. Though if you liked Duke before it's not a disappointment. He's still a pig.

Ah a 360 owner. I've seen a review that gave the game 8 for the PC version and 5 for the 360 version because of the loading times.blipblop said:
I myself played the demo after I found out that owning Borderlands GOTY entitled me to it. (First worthwhile thing Borderlands ever did). It was shit, not because it was childish, but because it was an ordinary game. Regenerating health, a two weapon limit, low enemy count, a horrible depth of field effect, and the fact that yes I have grown up and moved on, all contributed to me deciding I'll buy it when it is less than $10 on steam. Judging by the demo and the general comments I would feel ripped off if I were to pay full retail for this game.
I found it started pretty poorly. Well, no, right off the bat it was ok but then there was a lot of kinda shittyness. I thought the Hive part was... ok. I did some monster trucking which was quite fun... Oh and I actually really enjoyed that platforming section in the burger joint.
Overall it is pretty fun, but I also think critics have a right/responsibility to tell it like it is. Ultimately it's only a 5/10, but it's a fun 5 not a terrible 5 lol.

Honest to God, why are people who haven't even played this game commenting here. What is wrong with people. If you haven't played it and you are commenting, then you are exactly the same as people who never read the Da Vinci Code, and said that it was of the devil.
