eBay seems to have a bad reputation for people ripping you off but I have never been scammed before. When I mention buying games or DVDs off ebay to my friends they all say they will probably be fake or copies. However recently I bought 30 replacement earbuds for my earphones and the day after the guy left eBay. I haven't done anything because it only cost £1 but I wondered if this happens often

Could you PLEASE not use the number 4 like that? Seriously.

And to be on-topic: I have never bought anything over the internet. Though I had someone buy me the orange box on steam 2 days ago (I'll repay her irl when she comes for a visit where I live). I just don't trust my CC info to the internet. (unless maybe Steam... we'll see)

dude...that won't happen if you look at peoples records. Their approval ratings, how fast they were, if they even legitimately had anything to sell. I also email all the people I'm intent to by from. Also, paypal has buyer protection. It's really easy to not get scammed on ebay as long as you're willing to put in the work.

I frequently buy items off Amazon and have never been scammed - I don't trust ebay though.

Yes I've bought a couple of games at auction that never showed up. But at the same time Ive gotten some fairly good deals.

Honestly they need to find a way of policing Ebay better. Simply kicking someone off Ebay for scamming doesn't do anything to prevent people from doing it with disposable accounts or get people their money back (or simple satisfaction).

I've been of the opinion that online auction services, Ebay or otherwise, should be required to contract with law enforcement in any nation they accept sellers from. They should also take an effort to confirm names/addresses at least, so if there is a problem they know who the issue is with and can notify the appropriate authorities from the area.

Probably a bit much, but I don't care for the "Russian Roulette" nature of the service as it stands now.

The guy had 100% and over 100 ratings. I thinks what happened is he did loads of sales on that day then pocketed the money and left ebay

Never had a problem with eBay, always tend to get products cheaper on eBay then in stores, and have never been ripped off. Go eBay, i'm about to get Prototype for $15 less than in stores :)
