I don't want it, to be honest. I just don't understand how the elevators in a time where technology is so great can be so slow. Plus, it's boring. Sure, your companions have a little banter from time to time, there are also news reports, but these only last for a while. You can't even move.

Not that loading screens are much better.

How about we replace the elevators with Jetpacks for going up and big wobbly landing-balloons for going down?

I miss elevators, but they were definitely too slow in the original Mass Effect, particularly the one on Normandy. Maybe it could be a toggle in the options screen.

Anything but the goddamn loading screens. At least elevators had oportunities for your party to converse and keep you in the world, loading screens just tear you right out, which is why I remember of Mass Effect more fondly than the sequel, the immersion was almost never broken. They said that the loading screens would be disguised and would keep you in the world with information: that is a flat-out lie.

Honestly perfered the elevators to the loading screens, but I think that instead... we should have short fucking load times!!!!

I'm for Jetpacks.

Elevators weren't that bad, plus the little news updates in the Citadel rides, I thought, where fun.

Beats a boring load screen.

I say yes.

Yes they're slow, but loading screens are worse.

What would you have? A long elevator that keeps you in the game, or an immersion-killing loading screen of an elevator?

How about elevators with more crew banter and that let you move? Or maybe you can play Pong during loading, or Tetris, or Space-Bejeweled.

Yes.The commentary that was often only heard in the elevators were funny. Like if you have Tali and Garrus.

I prefer elevators, because it shows you Shepard's epic voyage from one floor to the other.
Seriously though, I would like to actually see the transition when you enter or exit the Normandy, so I know whether or not I'm aboard a spaceship.

Million'ed.

Anyway, maybe it's just me but the loading screens in ME2 were times faster than the elevator rides.

I miss elevators, I miss exploration with The Mako, I miss armors and weapon upgrades and I miss going to the airlock to get in and out of The Normandy. ME2 is awesome, but they dumbed it down for no reason. It could have been so much better if it kept the same awesome things that made ME1 what it is.

Loading screens don't have:
- Hilarious commercials (As mentioned before, like the Hamlet one).
- Awesome elevator muzak. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tAcIGhh5Yo]
- Hilarious conversations between party members.
- Cool news reports about Blasto, and of course about your own adventures through the galaxy.

So yes, elevators all the way.

Plus, elevators don't break immersion. You're actually traveling somewhere, you're still physically in the building and the game-world is not broken. Massively preferable over loading screens, especially in RPG's.

yeah to me it seemed faster. i freaking hate the elevators..more than the bloody mako.

unlike alot of people, i realize its a game, and wether it has a loading screen or a elevator, it doesn't break immersion. as long as its faster or at least interesting, then pick that one please.

I'd like them back, please. But I also liked the loading screens in ME2, so if you could combine those, perhaps...
Have a screen in the elevator that shows your progress, for instance. That would be perfect. Also, a mini-game for the shuttle, provided they keep it.

Also, didn't using 2 discs reduce the loading times in the second game? It's only fitting that the third should have 3 discs, right?

I LOVED the elevators. They were absolutely ingenious.

You get funny conversations between the various characters/combinations. Interesting backstories and/or moral dilemas between the characters. (genophage etc)
The adverts/info-mercials etc

They were great. I for one actually enjoyed if not, dare I go as far to say, looked forward to my elevator time!

Really couldn't care less.

As long as they're short. Although the fact that I started finger-tapping some elevator music on the table as soon as I read makes an argument for the elevators.
