I like Elizabeth with the corset I think she looks like a much more developed character (figuratively speaking) at that point than when she appeared at the beginning of the game. Elizabeth in costume 2 was the Elizabeth that the developers wanted to create that's why costume 2 was the predominant Elizabeth in all of the preview stuff.

I also liked the darker version of her, much less Disney princess, she seemed to be more compatible with Booker in outfit 2.

Outfit one made her a generic run of the mill damsel in distress, that's been done way-too-much. I'm glad there was a change in the game that warranted a change in outfit. I liked how costume 1 got destroyed though, cool idea.

And like so many other people corsets look hott.

Perhaps a couple pictures/links would help those who haven't played the game see what you're talking about.[/quote]
You're right, I'll get on that.

I like the blue one, not because of the corset, just because it's nice and vibrant and it's always really nice to see a splash of color when I'm still getting over far too much gray-brown in games.

First, for the unintentional "Belle" vibe.
Penny Arcade nailed it:

I love how ironic that comic is, since

The story kinda, sorta, DOES end with her and songbird ballroom dancing. At least, songbird's story does.
That's pretty cool, I didn't even think about that until I read it, but it makes sense.

First outfit, she looked cuter in it and more practical. Less world weary I guess.

(Kinda pathetic that I care about the fashion of my female sidekick in a game, but IRL think that sweat pants and an undershirt is go to for all occasions.)

Absolutely the first, it seems far more suited to the setting. In the second I understand the whole thematic change that it represents, but all I see is cleavage.

While the first one is more bookish and casual, I have to say I like the second more. It looks more iconic and intense, and I've got a thing for corsets, which I find unusually comfortable for whatever reason. If I do wind up doing a cosplay of her I'm definitely going for a replica of the second outfit.

Since I'm not Booker I can find her attractive and I found her far more attractive in the 2nd outfit since it made her look more "my age" than "schoolgirl".

The first outfit is cute but feels a little out of place, like she should be in a Japanese game.

The second outfit is much more mature and sexy. Love the haircut too.

They're both nice designwise but I can't really think of them independently of the stage in Liz's character development they represent. And I really love the latter one. Got the "But I fear you" theme going on as well.

Am I the only person here who realized that ol' Lizzy was running around the second half of the game without a shirt on, jacket notwithstanding?

First outfit. Less "advertisy", I think it fits the Columbia aesthetic better, and she still has her ponytail.

...What can I say, I'm a sucker for ponytails.

The second one. Both were nice, but I really do like corsets. Plus, all the pre-release material had her in her second outfit, so I don't know, it was more familiar to me.

I like the second one, in the first one she looks like she's involved in Anime schoolgirl RP. I know that's not the kind of outfit it is, but it's still the vibe I tend to get. The second one looks more period, not that either strike
me as being perfect.

At the end of the day though both designs seem to be trying too hard to have a modern/practical spin to them. I understand that fits with the needs of what she's supposed to do in the game though.

All I can say is if people showed up for an early steam/diesel punk themed costume contest for a fictional year 1913 and those were the two finalists, as a judge I'd pick #2.

First. I'm not a fan of corsets, and the rendering makes the corset stretchy or something, so it ends up looking more like a catsuit on somebody freakishly thin, which is even worse.

I do like the short haircut though.
