So for a stats project, I did a survey around town of who people would want brought back from the dead: Elvis, Freddie, or Tupac. I'm curious as to the results I'll get on the Escapist.

So, my fellow Escapists, which would you want brought back from the dead and why?
My vote went to Freddie, simply because he's my favorite of the three.

That's easy, Freddie Mercury of course. Queen is one of my favourite bands.

Elvis, his voice was actually getting better as he got older. One can only imagine what he could have done.

Elvis revolutionized rock and roll music, and american perspectives in general.
Tupac brought light to a bad situation in urban america, and has influenced and changed things all over the world.
Freddie was a talented front man and great musician. but not nearly as influential as the other two.

That said I voted for Mr. Mercury because I like him the best >.>

Freddy Mercury... though if it wasn't limited to those few I would want Kurt Cobain...<.<

Influential but not really talented, member of a band that deteriorated over time, and inanely overrated rapper who's legacy is grounded more in him being killed than talented and wasn't even the best when he was around, much less of all time.

If I must choose one, Freddie.

Elvis was pioneer of Rock'n'Roll (Little Richard was first) and made really good music in his own little style but never really managed to move forward. Tupac is an okay rapper that I never really got.

Freddie Mercury is quite possibly the greatest frontman of all time and with Queen he not only made great music in his own style, but experimented in other styles and absorbed them into his own brilliantly. I believe he would go on to make even better music then he already had if he was brought back. I mean Jesus, he made one of the best dying songs ever(Show Must Go On), can you imagine how magnificently triumphant a song he could make about returning from the dead?

Also, why isn't there more dead musicians here? No love for Biggie and Jim Morrison?

All Tupac ever did was make a bunch of noise, and I've never heard of Freddie Mercury, so I guess Elvis Presley, because he would be completely irrelevant today and not actually affect anything except maybe some women > 60 years old.

Of the three, Freddie.

But off hand I'd say Buddy Holly or Richie Valens more... along w/ a slue of others I just felt thoughse two in particular fit w/ the theme.

Choice D. FDR. I can use his charismatic genius to rule the world!

Mwa-haha!

OT: Freddy, probably. I'm not a huge Queen fan, but if I do the resurrection, I can show Freddy off to all my friends at school!

Elvis pioneered shitty whiny country, plenty of black artists played real rock 'n' roll before him.

Between Tupac and Freddie though that's a nigh on impossible choice.

Edit: On the topic of artists that need to be on this list where is Hendrix! The Beatles! Bob Marley!

Freddy Mercury cause I have never listened to Tupac, and I like Queen more than Elvis.

Needs more "none of the above" options. There's nothing to gain by bringing back musicians. Add some people who actually matter and maybe it'd be worth it.
