I really hope it will, but it seems as though we don't have as many factions to play with, i mean in Rome there were 15 (all of them with the cheat code, yay cheat codes), medieval there was like 17, but from what i've read we can only play as like 8 this time around. I just like options, it gives it more replay value knowing you can play it so much differently 20 times.

I have a great deal of faith in Creative Assembly if only because they made the Game of the Decade (Rome: Total War) and the Medieval games, while nowhere near as good as Rome, were still miles better than 95% of the strategy genre. It says a lot that I'll probably be disappointed if the game is merely "very good" as opposed to being Game of the Year.

Lol, I actually booked a holiday to coincide with the release date so that when I get back it should be there waiting for me. Otherwise I'd be watching out my window for days like a woman waiting for her soldier husband to come back, probably viciously attacking the postman each day it didn't come.

In short, I have no doubt that it will be awesome and I can't wait!

Looks like the Empire:Total War demo is going to be released tomorow!!!(20th of february)

http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/42851

The demo will include some sort of tutorial to explain Land/Naval warfare and then you get to play 2 historical battles with the Brittish Empire. Battle of Brandywine Creek versus the Americans and Battle of Lagos versus the naval power of the French!

It looks pretty good, but I have some concerns.

As the Turks, I would pack everyone onto a ship and leave the middle east, conquer the Moors and the Spanish, and forge a western Muslim empire while getting the heck out of crusade country. This was the freedom of the old Total War games. I worry that Total War Empires will be much more scripted and have more timed events.

Go Total War! The main campaings on hard paired with a couple of AI enhance mods will make the game last forever!

At least it did for me in Rome...never managed to conquer the world on hard....I seem to hit a wall when I face some Roman faction or Egypt.

I enjoyed the hell out of Imperial Glory, and I'm pretty sure that's a poor man's Empire:Total War. This game clearly cannot be anything less than exceptional in my eyes.

I have full faith in the Total War franchise, which is less than I can say about my current computer. I'm worried that I'll have to shell out money on an upgrade just to play it. Guess I'll just have to wait for the demo to hit, and pray in the meantime.

I've always been happy with what Total War has given me over the years. I guess you could say I like their style.

The only thing I'm worried about is whether or not my aging rig will be able to handle this game, or if I'll have to shell out for a new mobo and processor. I have a (now) tiny 2.13ghz dual core, and from what I've seen, they're finally trying to recreate the massive battles in the loading screens.

Download the demo from steam and see if your rig can run the demo good enough.

Minimum specs for Empire: Total War:

2.4Ghz single core processor
256MB Gfx card (DX9 compaitble)
1GB RAM (For XP, 2GB if using Vista)

For those that have any problems with starting the download of the demo restart Steam and try again.
