I thought it was about an important issue as well. Though I don't agree with your assessment, considering I enjoy sandbox games (and murder.)
I have no hate for the sandbox genre, the title of this thread makes it seem like its the great poll to end all polls, to find out its actually about two games that will both be superceeded by their next iteration within two years made me foam at the fucking mouth.

Two games that are about 6 months old as well? timeless?, what?

A timeless arguement would be how to apply immersion and how it effects you in game, or the quality of use of in game music, not a versus thread.
Ah. I misunderstood. My mistake!
A timeless argument would probably be one that's been discussed so much nobody cares, though.
Au contraire mon ami American(online), timeless would mean that people wuold still care and find the question and answers still fun.

Bit like "priceless", it doesn't mean its not of value.

But by your definition, timeless would mean discussing the merits and flaws of Halo 3, lets get into that now shall we?.... no.
Please god no. We have enough monthly threads about that already.

Oh sweet potatoe, guys! It's 50/50! This is never going to end. I'll just throw in my two cents before it never ends.

Allright. GTA was a brilliant serie. From GTA 1 all the way to 2 (That sounds short. But is not necessary as short) I loved it. It was great fun, playing with my brothers. We never did anything good. But it was fun. GTA 3. Kinda a let-down. It was amazing that it had all that new aspect thingy. And it was fun to play. To some extend. It was kinda borin' to be honest. GTA: Vice City. That was a good game. Missing something, but a good game. San Andreas was a lot of fun. But it didn't really have all that replay-value as I enjoy in these kind of games. I have yet to play GTA IV (Shouldn't this be like .. VII?), so I'm sorry. Not have the basis I should, I know.

Saints Row. When this first came out, I was thinking like "Whatte- a total GTA ripoff for sure". So I din't really get all into it. But a bit. I'd say it was like GTA Vice City or something. But Saints Row 2. That was a hell lot better than SA in my opinion. It was great. Pure fun. All the way. And also I loved the "cruise Control" feature too. Man how I've been missing that in GTA.

In the end. I'd say it's kinda close. Both are up at a first place. But considerin' everyone bitchin' about GTA IV (VII!). I'll guess I'm going to stick with Saints Row

Oh and. Why do everyone insist on saying "e cetera t"? Jizez. It's buggin' me, when I really shouldn't care, I know. But for the love of all that's holy. It's "et cetera".
I'm sorry

Oh sweet jesus christ i made it 50/50 this argument will forever be!.. personally i dont really compare them, ones funny and entertaining the other entertaining and gritty i chose Gta because i enjoyed it more End Off really, yes yes there the same sandbox game but what makes them what they are are completely different

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! will people stop voting for Gta because they did it first? who gives a crap who did it first

GTA, better series. If you had asked 'GTA4 vs Saints Row 2', however...
This is problem here Pandy. He asked what is better "grand theft auto (not indicating which one, so should be seen as the franchise in genral) or Saints Row (same GTA but only 2 games to its name and Saints Row 1 wasn't very good.)
and if you look at my comment i only mentioned the newest ones in the series of both of the games, im not an old man who goes "ah i remember the days when i was a yound lad the bikes were so much better" ect no, the games released now is how i judge games Prince of persia, from great to shit, halo, the list goes on

and lastly with my words above in mind saints row is a relativly new comer to the Old basterd that is GTA how can you use its past games to fairly judge which is better when one has had time to emmbed its selves in our society?..

I prefer the GTA series but I think that Saints Row 2 is better than GTA IV.

Old GTA, specifically Vice City. Change is often something to be applauded, but GTAIV's abrupt shift in tone was unwarranted. Me no likee.

No, I know what timeless means, but nothing is actually timeless, nor is anything truly "priceless."
Also, I haven't played it nor do I care to, so, agreed.
I know, I was couter facetiouting your facetious-ness.

Try saying that out loud 3 times, I just did and almost swallowed my tongue.

i really like both, GTA has a good realism about it but its fun to just screw around in SR2 too... SR also has waaaay more clothing customisation and better music... and i mean come on? TV/Internet ... or trying to harm yourself as much as possible to claim insurance??

so my final vote is that both have good and weak aspects and i think they are both equally good in their own right... i refuse to vote in the poll till there is a "like both" option.. XD
