You're either a State Alchemist, an Ishbalan Outcast practicing the forbidden art, or a freelance practitioner, but in any case, you have decided to create the Perfect Partner using Alchemy.

However, Equivalent Exchange dictates that you cannot gain anything without sacrificing something. You must present something of equal value in order to gain something.

The question put forth, Escapists: What happens when you activate that Transmutation Circle? What does the Gate take from you?

Dude, wat?

Like, I gotta give up my arm to have a partner with arms?

Think I'll stay single then. :p

Freelance practicioner, and I use a few wanted criminals to see if the equivalence is based on the amount of human souls, or what is valuable to me.

somehow i don't see anything short of my entire being actually being equivalent to a perfect woman. if all i had to give was a couple limbs, i suspect the result wouldn't be anything to get excited about, and at that point i would have been better off looking for love the old fashioned way...

oh, and Freelance.

Despite my aversion to the thought of this (there are plenty of women out there, no need to create one... and there's no such thing as "perfect")
...thanks to my avatar, I feel inclined to say I'm a State Alchemist, and that I would probably lose my genitalia in an ironic twist while crafting my nymphomaniac homunculus.

...this is why I'd rather take my chances with actual people.

The Philosopher's Stone, because I anticipated this, unlike SOME alchemist.

But then I'd only get a soulless doll, which by its very definition is not perfect for me. But its the best I'm going to get screwing around with Arcane tom foolery.

EDIT: State.

Despair for those who have become boastful.

He who had great vision lost his sight.
She who wanted children lost any chance of having them.
They who desired the comfort of a mother lost each other.

I would likely lose an arm or leg.

I would be a State Alchemist.

But... Every time someone attempts human transmutation, it never works! It does not even bring back the correct person! Why would I ever want to do something like that? It seems silly to risk my person for such a stupid thing...

OT: I would go state, and since I have to choose something, I would choose... my virginity. Oh snap!

Something of as equal worth to me, as the "perfect partner" would be?
I would partake then, and as such not be any sort of alchemist any longer!!!

To be honest - creating a false "perfect partner" by sacrificing something of your own? What? Of course I'm not going to do that.

Perfection is highly overrated so I probably wouldn't bother. If you said my ideal partner I still wouldn't give up anything because giving up something equivalent to my ideal partner would be pretty much everything when I think about it.

And create a homunculus with no soul that will most likely be involved in a political conspiracy for total power?

Yeah, no thanks.

Looking into the gate would be mighty tempting though...

If we choose to sacrifice a limb, can I get cool prosthetics like Adam Jenson? Or is that like wishing for five more wishes from the Genie?

Puh-lease gurl, auto-mail is so last year. (Snaps fingers) Sarif Industries is what's hot right now. I mean seriously, who doesn't want sunglasses built into their skull?
