I usually quite after 2 or so months of play time, take a break for another few months an then go back. Stops me getting bored of the game completely.

I dont really enjoy playing WoW anymore, i got bored a couple of months back, but i still keep my subscription up and play on it cause i pretty much have no life, so until i get something to spend my time on (Job, Girlfriend etc..), i'll most probably keep playing, but as soon as i get one or the other, i'm cancelling my account and focusing on things that are important, like moving out of my mom's place...

I must admit I come from the '£8.39 a month? I'm going back to Guild Wars' group of MMO gamers. I've never liked the idea of having to pay for being able to play a game, which is why I tend to stay away from most MMO's no matter how much I want to play them.

But the main reason I stay away from WoW is because of it's sheer ability to suck the money and life from you. Which is why I'm thankful I can't afford WoW.

Night elves!!!! No I used to play wowo but I almost died of hunger, so I took up console gaming. We lose more superior p.c. gamers that way.

I have an active account for the time being, but I hardly play. I actually stopped playing months ago, but my cousin, who is also my guild leader, kept asking me to come back mostly because other guild mates missed me. I do miss the community of my guild mates, but I just don't like the fact that they think I'm going to go back to being the way I was in Burning Crusade, geared to the teeth, and spending most of my time tanking. I just don't want to spend the time, and money on it anymore.

It was the combination of guild mates, family, and one of my real life friends that kept me in it as long as I was.

EDIT

In fact, my cousin and my friend were the ones who got me into it. We all had played StarCraft, Diablo II, and Warcraft III together, but then they moved onto WoW and I resisted joining them for a long time before I finally decided to give it a try.

I quit before I got started because I knew I would obsess... I played EQ1 for two and a half years and after that I dabbled in Earth and Beyond, Planetside, SWG, EVE, and FFXI but none of them lasted more than 3 months. I played WoW on a trial account, realized I could become hooked and promptly switched to Guild Wars which consumed my play time for about a year before I got fed up with having to deal with real people and went back to RTS's, then back to FPS's online (when CoD4 came out) and now I'm sporting a nice mix.
