Nintendo explained the story and the mechanics ages ago.
i don't need to know 100% of every little fucking detail to know i'm going to like the game. what? do you 100% all of your games do you? i doubt it, but then again, if you're staying true to your logic, you must have 100%'d Persona 5, otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to call it GOTY. LMAO
Nintendo explained literally the entire story or merely the premise? For example, everyone knows premise of Infinity War, but no one can say if the execution will even be competent, let alone good.
And you know exactly how the combat system worked before you started playing? Go watch some say Resonance of Fate gameplay footage and explain to me the pros and cons of that combat system without actually playing it.
Knowing the ins and outs of a combat system and fully understanding the game's balance doesn't require you to 100% a game, but it does require some legit and usually lengthy hands-on time. How do you know a multiplayer shooter is properly balanced without spending time playing it? Those games live or die on balance. Even a single player FPS requires you to play it just a bit to see if the shooting feels right. Even then you have stuff like level design and story, which you won't have a complete knowledge of until you finish the game. I haven't played Persona 5 and won't play it because I know there's quite a bit of filler, I don't like games (or any media) wasting my time. You seem to be all about that Xenoblade 2 vs Persona 5 bullshit that's all the rage on GameFaqs right now.
