Poll: Escapist, PLEASE Spacebar = Pause PLEASE who's with me?

Seriously, This is annoying me and with all the up grades that you do to the website to help over promote movies and video game (and keeping this website free, WE LOVE YOU) you have yet to make the videos recognize that SPACE bar means PAUSE. This is especially annoying when watching movie bob who posts those 1.5 second clips of information. I have to keep the mouse moving in small circles in order to keep the play button visible to pause the damn thing, this also means i'm having to rewind it over and over and over.

Its frustrating. So please write this into your programing.

You can just click on the video itself you know... That pauses and unpauses it.

Secondly, couldn't you just hover the mouse over the video and click when you want to pause?

I've never seen the point of having the space bar as the "Play/Pause" button unless you're editing film. And as for the point that you've illustrated, I've never had a problem reading those blurbs in that 1.5 seconds...Granted, I can speed read.

I dunno. I don't see a purpose behind it. But that's just me ^_^

EDIT: Oh and dude, if you're going to make a poll, then have options that say something other than "YES" or a variation of it. That's just being childish.

The spacebar is a full 2.5 inches (5.75cm) farther away from me than my mouse. I would rather use my mouse.

I loathe the Escapist videos, it's extremely hard for me to click pause as the hovering bar only comes up at certain times.

when i'm watching my videos, laid back and relax, i can get to the space bar quicker. its no fun watching the video with your hand outstretched over the mouse like its a button to inject insta-crack into your eyes while your waiting for the 1.5 second green GO light to flash.

Please don't use polls if you don't intend to use them for their intended purpose, i.e to get differing opinions on things. 'yes' only poll is useless.

Also, I'm actually against any kind of 'use space bar to pause' thing on The Escapist. I use the space bar for others things, and don't want it occupied as a pause button, thankyou.

Also, if the page has been selected, space bar works. I may be the exception, but it works just fine using the space bar to pause on my end.

Or you could move your hand a few centimetres and click on the video or the pause button. Those work.

Just a word of advice. When you make a poll, please don't do a biased set of answers. That's the sort of thing that makes people like me report you for inappropriate use of the forum tools. And also stops most people viewing your thread from posting or voting in said poll.

Anyway, does it matter? Click the bloody video screen itself, that pauses the video by default. You don't have to specifically click 'pause' to pause the videos, that's just silly. And most people seriously do not care anyway. Myself included.

I tend to read pretty slowly and a LOT of the text in things like Zero Punctuation passes by too quickly for me. Space bar pause would be lovely.

Yep it's a all good here too. Works fine in both Chrome and Safari.
