I scored a 28 on my ACT, but I can't remember for the life of me what I got on the SAT old or new. It's been years since I took either one, not sure if I would do better or worse now. >.>

29 on the ACT, but it should either have been higher or lower. My ADD was getting to me, and sitting in a class room on a Saturday taking a test was just not working for me. I picked answers at random in one of the math sections just to be done with the damn thing.

I should have just stayed and finished the test properly, since I ended up injuring myself on my BMX bike and spending the rest of the afternoon playing video games.

I never took the ACT, but I did take the SAT twice. The first SAT score was from the old SAT, and the next year was when they implemented the new SAT.

1190 the first time. 600 Math and 590 English. I needed a 1200 to get the scholarship I needed to go to the college I wanted to attend. So I retook it.

The second one I scored an even 1800. 600 Math, English and Writing. The interesting note on this one is that this time I left my calculator at home so I had to do all the math by hand. I was more than shocked that I made the same score even though I have always had a proficiency in math. I even briefly considered becoming a math teacher.

I've always liked to think of myself as a well-rounded student, and maybe there's some credence to that.

Either that or I'm just a pretty good test taker.

I remember I was sick the two days we did the British standardised tests in 3rd or 4th year (they weren't Key Stage 3s, I can't actually remember the name of them) so I missed them. My form teacher said I'd have to do them some other time, but they never bothered to rearrange the tests, so I just never did them.

And not once throughout my eduction did anyone else ever notice they were missing. Yay tests!

Took the SAT twice around 1999, received a 1470 the first time and a 1490 the second (800 on the Verbal section both attempts - reading comprehension wuz apearently gud). Ran out of time for the math on both occasions - though I did score the highest in NY a few years earlier for the math SAT IIs. :(

30 something on the ACTs. Never really needed the ACT for later purposes, so forgot the score.

As of now, I've forgotten everything outside of how to use Google.

Uh... what about us non-Americans who didn't do them?! -_-

Well, I got a triple 8 for my KS3 SATs, so... *shrug* -_-
I think that's pretty good. If I recall correctly (no guarantees) I had three sevens and I was all but hailed as the second coming of Christ.

Weirdly enough I don't remember what I got for KS3, but I remember getting triple 5 for my KS2. I remember they made me sit the level 6 maths paper without any notice or prep and I failed it. Then when I went to secondary school I sat the intro assessments and the science teacher flat told me that if they'd let me sit the science paper like I wanted to I'd have probably nailed it. Bastards.

I took both of them when I was 12. I studied really hard because my asked my father for Kingdom Hearts 2 if I did well.
Fast forward to college where the first time I ever play it is when my friend lends me her disc. :(

Under the old system, my SAT score was a 1430 (or 1450, or 1460, I honestly can't remember what that was in the tens place), a lot of which was from the perfect 800 I made on the language portion. However, I actually took the new test, it was just early enough into it that the writing score didn't matter. I want to say overall it was a 2240 or something like that, but I really can't remember, it was five or six years ago, and it didn't matter in the first place because I went to community college for two years to save money on room and board by living at home until I completed my AA. Turns out there's plenty of scholarships out there for tuition and books, not so much for room and board. I only took it once, by the way, with no special prep beforehand.

I didn't take the ACT, so I have no score for that.

Right around 1300 on the new SAT. Not great but good enough for USF!
That University of South Florida, or University of San Francisco?

Because if it's the former and you're involved in either the videogame club or HvZ, we probably know each other through Facebook, if not personally 0.o

I haven't taken an ACT, but on the old 1600 scale SAT I got 1600, and on the new 2400, I got 2280.

Still didn't do anything to balance my frankly shit high school grades, sadly.

Never taken any myself (I'm from the north of the border, eh) but from what I've heard, it's a pretty painful and stressful process.

Got a 2010/2400 the first time. The closest thing I had to a goal was to just get over 2000, although I still wasn't happy and considered taking it again, but then I remembered I was applying to art schools and ran with it. And I was lucky enough to not regret that decision.

EDIT: And apparently 17.6% of people in the poll were perfect or near perfect. We totally believe you, guys.

...Anyhow, for me I got a 30 on my ACT. Nothing to be ashamed of but I'm going to try again for a 32, hopefully it will be enough to get into UCLA :)
Here's the little trick no one tells you about with most land grant/state schools. You can get in as a transfer with standards far lower than the typical entry requirements. Additionally, you can do a year or two at a tech school, get a fair portion of your general education courses out of the way (math, English, etc), save bucket loads of money, and still graduate from your institution of choice.
Yep, thats pretty much what I'm doing. I'm going to do some classes in the military and then do some more classes once I get out to get about 2 years of college knocked out then I'm going to apply to UCLA (along with quite a few other schools of course) and finish up in a university.
To be honest, the ACT/SAT metric is a bit daft. Like I said, I scored a 21 or 22, really can't remember, and finished school Magna Cum Laude. A buddy of mine scored a 36 on the ACT, bounced out of college after his first semester and hasn't returned since. It just goes to show that your score is only one very small part of who you really are.

Naturally, I'm not saying that I'm going to get a 32 and then just skate through college. Its just that I hope that my high scores will help me get into the college.

"Can you pay for college? Yup. Come right this way..."

That rings true for a fair portion of public colleges and universities in the US, so don't sweat your ACT/SAT. It really isn't that big of a deal.
