HOLY SHIT!!!!

That is the only thing that ran through my mind during that final. Those fights were the stuff of fucking legends right there between Dogura and Gararao, so hard to top such amazing play like that. Just watching the shit gave me an anxiety attack.
Yeah, that was like Evo Moment 38.. and 39.. and 40.. and 41.. and...
I'm not gonna lie, I had tears coming out of my eyes almost as much a Garireo did. You couldn't ask for a more high stakes match like that, and he damn well deserves that 30k.

What a tourney overall, all the Kokos getting locked out of the finals is so damn gratifying too. The pink menace was slain, and the top 8 had a great character spread overall. Just seeing a Tager in the top 8 was awesome enough...even as much as I hate Tager lol.

Those other finals are gonna have to be something else to top what we just saw.

Damn straight. I was misting up too. And to think there are people who still wonder why we love fighting games.

The International?
World Cup?
What are these things you speak of?

Are these just other terms for EVO?

You won't find better grand finals than these. If you missed it watch now why bb is the best fighter ever and why morw people shoupd play it. It'll be instantly apparent.

Well, I know there's probably really thrilling things happening in Smash but I'm just finding it really hard to care. The variety just isn't there for me.. and the music. I really hope the next Smash has less repetitive music or I might avoid watching it on those grounds alone.

I just can't enjoy Smash myself now. After first getting into more traditional fighting games with the first BlazBlue back in '09 it just doesn't spark any sort of interest in me. Even if I enjoyed it quite a bit when I was younger.

I must disagree on the music, though. But maybe that's the whole childhood nostalgia thing working on me.

Smash has a whole different set of fundamentals therefore I just don't understand what's going on of what's impressive. It's like a different genre from 2D fighters.

Never mind that though, did you see how hype BB is. More people should jump in!

I had my alarm set for 8am fully intending to wake up for BBCP finals but I couldn't manage to get myself out of bed to watch any of it. Sucks that they were so good. But I did see the grand finals (so glad someone uploaded them) and goddamn, I wish I would have been awake to see it when it actually happened.

Well that was probably one of the sloppiest Marvel Top 8s I've seen in a long time. Missed inputs, poor assist calling, punished raw tags, dropped combos, etc. all over the place. Kudos to Justin for holding on long enough to come out on top. He might have won anyways, but I doubt he would have been able to beat Chris or FChamp if they were playing their best the way he was playing today.

And now, on to USF4! Go Snake Eyez and Louffy!

But wait, Tekken 7 confirmed with more info to come on July 25th. It's subtitled "The Final Battle" so maybe the last Tekken game? Very interesting.

I'm generally uninterested in capcom games and ttt2 finals were meh. I'm rather content watching BB again lol. Top 8 is up and Dora is awesome as ever.

I was actually there watching the finals earlier. I even participated in the Melee tournament (got double-eliminated right away, lol).

That was an awesome experience.

Congratz for even being there in person! :) I'm sure I'd go 0 and 2 as well.

Wow, that was super strong play by Louffy. Just almost complete destruction of the Top 8. Great stuff with a character no one thought had a chance before Ultra.

I never intended to watch any of it but ended up watching the SF4 final while waiting for stuff to download. It was surprisingly interesting and I ended up watching it for like 2 hours. Louffy seemed to do especially well for playing a character who's super/ultra power thing seemed to do pretty much nothing and everyone else had some big fiery punch your face off attack.

Holy shit Louffy, that was one of the best EVO top 8 runs I've ever seen. The balls of that guy, and the immaculate spacing.

Was Alioune using Cammy though? I have no idea myself but I know a lot of Cammy players switched to Decapre. Seems like a lot of players who should be playing someone other than Decapre in these high stakes matches are losing at least part of the set because of her just not being that good (yet?) and that's starting them off on the wrong foot.
I believe he's been testing Decapre, but I believe I saw him using Cammy in the group stages. Which I don't blame him for. Decapre's pretty good, but Cammy is still top 3, easily, and Alioune is one of the best Cammy players around.

Rose's Ultra 2 (Soul Satellite) is actually considered one of the strongest ultras in the game, for good reason. It completely resets the momentum when you activate it, and forces people to block lest they want to risk eating a huge combo from the combination of U2-orbs and the rest of her attacks(often amounts to 350-400 damage). However, that again allows you to set up some throw mixups, focus shenanigans, or cross-overs on wake up, because the opponent is scared of what will happen if they don't block. Louffy got a lot of milage out of that thing.

I don't really watch much UMvC3 anymore (nor do I play it anymore) but I figured it's the biggest tournament of the year I'll give it a try. Watch the first two matches of top 8 and went "Nope" because at that point suddenly anything became more important than watching more of that. It seems like once people figured out that Vergil was good, that Dr. Doom infinites weren't that hard and that Morrigan looks kind of ass when not played by ChrisG that the game completely stopped evolving. Justin Wong won the event with his month one 'vanilla' MvC3 team. That says a lot about the game and the players and none of it's good.

I would also, critically, add with regards to Rose's U2 that it's one of the few ultras in the game where it doesn't really matter how full it is before you throw it out there as you're thinking more about spacing and momentum than damage with Dhalsim's Yoga Catastrophe and Decapre's Psycho Stream being the only other such ultras.

Juri U1 goes onto that list as well. Pop it, and watch people sit downback the next 15 seconds(yes, it lasts 15 seconds when it's full, ugh) while Juri goes into full pressure mode.
