Poll: Expectations for Call of Duty: Black Ops

Infinity Ward say that this will be the last instalment of the Call of Duty series, and I was wondering, is it going to be tearful and heartbreaking crescendo to the best game series in the history of the world, or is it going to be a squeaky fart of an overhyped series?

It won't be the last, Sledgehammer Games are working on a CoD title and IW said that MW3 was in pre-production (writing the plot etc). But I'm giving this game a chance, MW2 bought shame on the series that was undeserved.

I know that Treyarch have been thought to make superior games in many peoples opinion, so in comparison to MW2 I think it will be better, howevere I'm not expecting anything amazing...

I really want it to be amazing. I don't know because I haven't played it yet, I haven't heard of this being the last though, can you please post a link? I hope treyarch stays, I can't care less about IW.

I didn't have high hopes for MW2 and i won't have any for Black-ops it will just be your average shooter, nothin' special.

I can sum up the majority of responses with two "sentences":

Lolol treyarch and their games sux
Lolol better than MW2 for no reason aside from dedicated servers

But seriously, Treyarch have redeemed themselves with WaW which was actually pretty good, so it would be nice to see Black Ops be a really good game just to once and for all (hopefully) shut everyone up about how "bad" they are.

after the first modern warfare, there was no way that treyarch could beat it, WOW was playable, but no modern warfare. after MW2, treyarch could release shit in a box and it would be better than that. although, i'm only speaking from a single player point of view. treyarch = good single player. IW = good multiplayer. if they bring tanks and dogs back in multiplayer, i'll be sticking with MW2 for multiplayer.

I think there's a good chance it could be the beginning of the end for the CoD series.

If it's good though, I'll be very happy.

It's a Treyarch game, so it will be unbelievably similar to MW2. It'll also be entirely average, as opposed to Infinity Ward games that are amazing in some respects and downright awful in others. World at War didn't really do too much wrong, but there were a lot of small issues that added up to drag the game down. At least the multiplayer will be better than MW2 thanks to the beta and community feedback Treyarch is begging for.
